Crooked vent cutouts
I received the protective boot and a new IR W7150-K2 today (Wed. 4/29/15) along with some standard and metric impact sockets. Just 4 stars because the side vent holes didn't match up just right. The lower left side slot (gun pointed away from you) was cutout too short and at an angle and left a big nub which pushed that area away from the gun. And both upper and lower slots are cut out slightly lower than the vents and blocks a little bit of both vents. The right side slots are both slightly cut too high and slightly too far back and at an angle too. Both of those vents are slightly blocked too. I cut that nub out with a X-Acto knife. I'm going to have to trim the other slots too so that the vents are fully open. I'm going to try to do that with the boot on the gun. I just need to be really careful not to cut into the rubber grip on the lower vents. It is difficult to cut the boot when it is off of the gun because it is flexible and thick. I had to be really careful not to cut my fingers when I cut out the nub. Also the impact wrench WILL fit in the case and the lid will close fully with the boot on. You don't have to cut out the inside of the lid unless you want to. Just push the lid down fully to seat the impact wrench in the lower half of the case. There will be some resistance. Then there will be about an inch gap at the front of the case when released. Now just push down and make sure the top lid lip goes down over the lip on the lower half of the case. You'll have to hold down the right side of the lid then snap the latch in. If you didn't know, you'll have to put the protective boot in hot water or heat it up with a heat gun or hair dryer to soften it up so you can stretch it over the impact wrench to put it on.

no instructions but here are the tips I found useful.
This boot fit my impact perfectly. I would like to say though that this came with no instructions on how to put it on the tool. I ended up doing a search and found a vid on how to. So to make things easier for those purchasing it take this boot out of it's packaging and place it into a container such as a large plastic mixing bowl and into your sink. Do not put the impact into said container with it, with the boot in the container turn on the hot water and let the hot water flow into the container covering the boot as best as you can with hot water. Leave the water running for two minutes + after this take the boot out and dry inside and out until no droplets of water remain the boot will now be stretchy and can be stretched placing the front of the boot over the gun and pull the back over the back of the gun until it slides over the back completely covering the top portion of the impact. Adjust the openings on the boot over the openings of the gun to ensure the air slots are not covered. Watch your fingers as you are doing this as they will get pinched when sliding over the back portion of the impact. Allow the boot to cool and you have completed your protection boot install on your W7150-Boot

Buy a $500 tool, make sure it's protected.
I was debating between the Milwaukee & the Ingersoll Rand W7150 and after watching YouTube videos on removing the Honda Crankshaft bolt. The Ingersoll Rand W7150 is the best. Both tools are in the $500 range. So I purchase the Ingersoll Rand W7150-K2 since it was a much better deal here on Amazon. If your going to spend $500 on a tool, make as well protect it. *TIP on putting it on* I left the boot in its plastic package and place it on the floor outside in the hot sun for about 5 mints. The I remove it from the plastic package and start placing the boot from the front of the Ingersoll Rand W7150 and using two fingers, placing them inside the back of the boot air vent opening. I pull it little to no effort and it went on the gun easy. This is due to the sun heating boot and making it easy expand while putting the boot on the gun. I have seen another method on YouTube by placing the boot in a tube of hot running water. My method was easy and it only took 5 mint in the sun and no water being wasted.

I am very pleased with this product! Ingersoll Rand always provides the best products available. The merchandise arrived on time as promised by Amazon it was well packaged and I am very happy with my purchase thanks a lot Amazon! Besides who spends $450 on the most powerful impact on the planet and doesn't spend $20 to protect their investment ingersoll-rand maybe more expensive than other brands but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for I will buy Ingersoll Rand products for the rest of my life and we'll be happy to shop Amazon! Without giving it a second thought I give this product 5 stars without question I highly recommend you protect your investment with this product...

WORTH BUYING
Totally worth buying fits my gun nice and snug. Read a lot of reviews about putting it on some said they put it in boiling water others said it didn't fit. It's all a bunch of BS. All I did was put the front of my gun through the hole then I pulled the boot back (basically stretch the boot) till I was able to get the in the boot. Super easy. I wish they had different colors. Red is not my favorite color.

Once the boot is put on.....
you cannot put the gun back in the carrying case because the lid just wouldn't close. This boot is made in the USA, but the gun is made in China. What kind of logic is this? I wish it was the other way around. Installation may take some macho method. Put the anvil (drive) end first, of course. IR should have made the carrying case space slightly larger so that the gun could be stowed with the boot on. The gun does look nice with the boot, as well as an added protection against cosmetic damage.

Power tool boot for Ingersol Rand
Shipped quick. A little hard to get on but fit perfectly. Need to put instructions in the box. Had to go and get a video on how to install. (They are not just slip on) . But worked easily after I seen a video. Recommend

Protect your toy
This is a must have . To be installed from day 1 not after 3 months of use and abuse. I'm so happy with this boot use a heat gun, hot water, or hair dryer to put it on .

Use Heat
I little hard to install, use hot water or a heat gun(carefully) to install to soften the plastic allowing you to stretch it. Seems very durable.
