Works with my 20 year old Craftsman Lawnmower
For the first time in 20 years, my old Craftsman lawnmower started to give me the shakes. I figured it was the ignition coil. I watched a couple of YouTube videos that showed how to disassemble the engine. When I pulled the old coil off, I noticed one of the "contacts" had delaminated. Found the engine model number, searched for the replacement coil and bought it through Amazon Marketplace from Alamia on a Tuesday. It was shipped on Thursday via USPS and arrived on Saturday just before I needed to mow the lawn. As the picture shows, the coil does not come with a spark plug boot, so you need to save the old one. Reinstalled everything (used a business card to get the correct gap) and started it up. It ran rough for a bit, but after a few minutes, it was just as smooth as before.

Worked great after I figured out how to place it
I have a Tecumseh engine on my mower, and this is an after market part (i.e. not made by the engine manufacturer). My only complaint is that it came with no instructions as to how to place it on the mower. I realize it is probably intended for someone who knows how to work on engines, but it should have some type of info for the do-it-yourselfer. Thank goodness for YouTube how-to videos.

This is the part I needed for my Tecumseh lv195ea with no spark
After normal maintenance (fresh gas, fresh oil, new properly gapped spark plug) my toro 22" recycler with a tecumseh lv195ea engine just would not turn over. Towards the end of the 2012 season, it started getting harder to start so I learned how to clean carb thanks to youtube videos. That seemed to do the trick for the remaining few mows. But this year.... a no-go, it would not start at all. I finally saw a video that showed how to check for spark. So I checked for spark - no spark. Ordered this part, put it on with a new air filter as well, primed it a few times and it fired right up. Installing it was fairly easy too. So, if you've done the regular maintenance on your mower and it still wont start, check for spark. If you have no spark you need a new ignition module! If you can't fix it by watching youtube videos...it's probably not worth doing! Hope this helps any frustrated DIY'ers.

Fixed my lawn mower with this part
My Toro lawn mower with its Tecumesh engine started having problems starting after it ran a while and I had to stop to empty the bag. If I waited too long before restarting it wouldn't. In the beginning it was quite unpredictable to tell what was wrong. I suspected the electronic ignition was having a heat problem. Several times I removed the spark plug and noticed there was no spark when I pulled the cord. I ordered this part as the best guess to what the problem was. I replaced the part and my mower has been working ever since. It actually starts better now than when I bought the damn mower. Make sure you see how the old part is mounted before replacing. The hardest part is setting the gap of 0.015-0.018 in. This is not the right engine but the picture shows where the gap, search on Briggs and Stratton Engine 125K02 0137 Ignition System Here's a good site for Tecumesh engine part descriptions, search for Engine Parts List #LEV_PG1 parts for the Tecumseh LV195XA-362089E Stens parts seem very well built. Good Luck.

Great replacement for my Toro mower
My mower would not start (I had not used it more than 5 years) and my testing found that I was not getting any spark. I replaced the the spark plug with "NGK BR2LM Standard Spark Plug" that is a little better than the original, and I replaced the magneto with this "Stens 440-505 Solid State Module Replaces Tecumseh 34443C Tecnamotor 1416.0034 Tecumseh 34443B 34443A 34443D". The magneto was the problem. My mower has been running like new. Note that while ordering these parts I decided to add a new blade (Toro Recycler (22") Replacement Lawn Mower Blade - 108-9764-03) and air filter. Everything cost about $50. Also drained and replaced the gasoline. The repairs were not difficult. When you install the magneto you need to measure the gap between it and the mower - just put any business card in between, tighten the two bolts, and you are done!

Came with the boot, bolted right in and fired right up
I was pleasantly surprised when it came with the spark plug boot. It bolted right in and fired right up. A few tips: Use a wire brush to clean the rust off the outer diameter of the flywheel and magnet area. Figured it couldn't hurt. I also dabbed a little ABS cement (plumbing department) around where the secondary wire attaches to the coil it make it more water resistant. The tip about using a business card to set the 0.0125" clearance worked perfectly. Rotate the flywheel to make sure nothing rubs. I wrapped the plug wire with electrical tape where it touches the flywheel shroud and cylinder head so it wouldn't rub through like my old one did. Make sure the green ground wire fits snugly. I bent the lip on the bottom edge of the flywheel shroud outward slightly with pliers. Made it go back on much easier.
