Determine the correct thickness before ordering.
I recieved my package yesterday and installed the brake pad. I mistakenly only ordered one (i thought i ordered two). Turns out all i needed was one due to the fact that the pad was pretty thick. I removed the old pads prior to purchasing to confirm measurments which were correct but i obviously couldn't determine thickness. I dont know if there are other pads with different thicknesses. I re-used one of the old pads with the new pad and found that the brakes were too tight and wouldn't release. I switched out to the other old pad which was worn slightly more and it worked. In short, I should have done a little more research to find out the required thickness of the pads.

Works on John Deere GX75
Note: if you have a GX75 and want to change the brake pads....you have to remove and open the entire transaxle. (I've seen other models of the Tecumseh/Foote transaxle where you can remove a side rail and access the pads but not on mine.) And the replacement grease is a clay base, Bentonite grease, Tecumseh 788067C. May as well change it while you are in there. The whole operation was actually not that difficult, hardest part was putting the transaxle back in. And in my case, the pins that push the brake pads were rusted in place but I was able to free them and polish them up.

Product not as described.
I have been in the repair service for many years, and typically when we order brake pads, they are supplied and replaced in pairs. I assumed that the description "Available only as a set from Tecumseh, One in package" meant that it is only available as a set, and only one set per package. Supplying/installing one pad is not repair industry practice, and the language is misleading.

Measure twice...
This is listed as a replacement for my craftsman LT400. They are the right thickness and width, however, they are not long enough and slide back and forth in the slots. I am giving 4 stars as the dimensions are clearly listed on the main page, and I should have measured.
