CMC Joint Repair
These ComfortCool CMC joint Restriction Splints are fabulous! They provide support & they last. I've had my first one for well over a year. This was my 2nd one & the price I paid on Amazon was way less than my original purchase from my Orthopedic surgeon's office. I am sold for life

Good fit and decent support, but can't tolerate velcro
Fits per measurements. Decent support. Not as much as for example my Push CMC splints, but I am hoping for something to wear when those are bothering me, as the hard plastic isn't comfortable. My hand therapist recommended these for sleeping and lounging on the couch and such. Decently cool for how much fabric/coverage there is. Not the easiest nor most difficult to put on yourself. Note they appear to have versions of this both with and without an optional thermoplastic insert which you melt into a slot in the thumb strap (in the microwave) to provide extra support. This one has it, but I didn't add it, as after trying it on I decided to return it. It's optional, but once you melt it, they said you can't remove it (I assume it gets melted into the neoprene), so be sure you want that added support first. And you can't really try it out first, as it's a straight piece before you melt it. Support is decent without it. Not a ton actually at the CMC joint though. But I just can't tolerate the top velcro part. Even after I tried some fabric medical tape along the edge of the one side of one velcro piece that was touching my skin. And adjusting it so the edge of the velcro wouldn't hit the bone on the pinky side of the top of my wrist. It still bothered me with the slightest of wrist bending, as there is extra bulk there on top, which bothered both the upper and lower sides of my wrist. I decided it was only likely to get worse with extended wear. Trying to decide if I should try the one with the added wrist support, as it looks like the velcro is lower down on the arm with that one, plus the added wrist support may negate the wrist bending issue. I could benefit from extra wrist support with De Quervain's and Carpal Tunnel in addition to Thumb CMC Arthritis too. But they don't have it on Prime, so no returns, and long ship times. Plus my hand therapist didn't recommend long term stabilization of anything but the CMC joint on me, despite having other issues too. So I plan to wait and ask him specifically about that model. Always a good idea to get medical advice about long term use of any splint, as far as what type of appropriate for your conditions/, when to wear it, etc.

Nice support!
This gives my thumb some good support and keeps my joint warm. I have a bit of Arthur (As my dad called arthritis) in my thumb joint and it helps give it some relief! I use it while working on the computer and keep it on most of the day.
