Good if you need a “comfy” Type II

I like how the head rest laid flat on the back and very bright visibility, . This one is rated as a type II PFD. Since I know I had trouble finding the right fit for a toddler and we had to try so many, I included two models. First 3 pictures child is almost 3 and 30 pounds. Last 2 pictures child is 8 and 50 pounds. So one on each end of limit. I think we have decided all we need is a type III for now but would choose this one in a heartbeat if seeking type II.

Very good

My 22 month old wears this on the boat and just recently the beach. She floats around and doggy paddles and swims with it. She treads the water with it and when she jumps into the water it does flip her over onto her back and keeps her head up! It’s a great vest and I’m enjoying it even more now that it’s helping to teach my daughter to swim without constricting her arm movement but also keeping her afloat

Great Type II Life Vest for Children

Update: I had originally purchased the "child" sized vest for my daughter, and have liked it so much that I just purchased the "youth" size for her as she is now outgrowing the smaller one (she is just over 50 lbs now). We use a more compact vest for fun at the beach or pool under supervision, but I do not think you can beat this vest for boating with a child. I really like the strap between the legs to keep her secure, the pull handle on the back so I can grab/wrangle her if needed, and that it forces her to float on her back with her head out of the water. Original: I purchased this for my daughter who is just over 30 pounds and has just started learning to swim. After some research, I decided I needed a few criteria for a child's life vest: it had to be Type II rated (this makes the person wearing it float face up even if they cannot swim or are unconscious) , it needed a grab handle, and it needed good adjustment straps for a snug fit as well as a strap between the legs so it could not slide up over her head. This product is one of the few I could find that covered all my requirements. I also like the very bright green color for safety visibility as well. We have not used it boating yet, but my wife took the vest with our daughter to her swimming class this morning and the instructor said he would rate this vest a 10 out of 10 for a child's safety. The instructor took her in the water and she floated comfortably on her back with no effort at all. Again, my daughter is just over 30 pounds, and the adjustment straps made for a perfect fit with room to grow (she is just at the bottom of the rating for this vest which is 30-50 lbs). I would not recommend this for a child smaller than 30 pounds, but it does seem perfectly sized for the range it is rated at, with good adjustment range. The vest zips up the front to keep it securely closed, then the three straps (two around the torso and one between the legs) can be adjusted to keep the vest exactly where it needs to be while remaining comfortable. I used the grab handle on the back to pick my daughter up off the floor (which she thought was fun, so it was not uncomfortable) and she did not slide down in the vest at all. The back flotation pad sits across the shoulders, out of the way, but floats up behind the head when in the water.

Love the color and style

This is great for my 2 year old. He's about 32 pounds and it works perfectly. He jumps off a dock into a pond while we all swim (on purpose) and it pops him right back up. And when he doesn't want to be done swimming, we can yank him out with the top strap. 10/10 recommend.

Excellent

Very comfortable. Heads Up was worn by my 5 yo in preference to Stearns Classic vest. The heads up feature gave her more confidence in the water and even on the boat she felt comfortable. As she put it "The Red one (Classic) made me Backstroke and I don't like that as much" Awesome life vest.

Amazing

I bought 2 of these, one for my 1.5 yr old and my one for my 3 yr old. Almost right away after both of my children went into the water the current pushed them over, in less than 5 seconds they were on their backs thanks to life jackets. It definitely took SO much stress off me knowing how quickly the life jacket can flip them over and allow me to not be a helicopter mom over them.

By far the best value for your kids when you're out on the boat. The bright color stands out if they were to fall in, they can still swim while wearing it, and the price is affordable.

Quality and convenience

Fits my 2yo perfectly! He’s 26lbs for reference..easily adjustable which is convenient..have not tested if it will keep him on his back but it’s Very good quality
