Slender sexy insulated cup, with a flaw
This is a slender, great-looking and well-made insulated cup. But that slenderness means it's not suited to car cupholders, where its skinny and top-heavy shape makes it flop around loosely and threaten to fall clear out of the console on turns. Since that's what I got it for, it's a fail for me. I guess I should have paid more attention to its measurements ... and you should, too. Unfortunately, it also suffers from the same thing many of these cups do ... it's slick and slippery in the hand, and cold weather would only make that worse. With gloves, it could really be hard to handle. But as a simple insulated water or non-carbonated drink bottle, it is great. As far as its overall quality, it earns 5 stars. The fit and finish are excellent, it's lightweight, and it's dishwasher safe. I tested its claim of keeping hot beverages hot for 8 hours by filling it with water at 145 degrees F. After 8 hours the water still measured 123 degrees. Not hot enough for most of us coffee drinkers, but still great performance, and who expects sizzling hot coffee after 8 hours in a cup anyway? One other observation is that the lid is a pretty complex shape inside, making me wonder how hard it will be to keep all those twists and turns clean in the long run. This is a great insulated bottle/cup, with style, excellent build quality, and very good performance. But the fact it can't be used in a typical vehicle cupholder is a big minus for me. I suppose some people will use it in a backpack or just as a drink holder, but as a vehicle travel container it's almost useless. I'm dinging it a star for that. If you want an insulated cup to use around the house, it may be for you.

Okay, I’m understanding the hype now
I’m a stainless tumbler lady. I have all of the major brands and was curious what the hype over Stanley is. I get it now. This has the quality of old school Stanley items but its not heavy at all. This 20 oz AeroLight Transit Bottle is actually super lightweight when it’s empty. The lid screws on making it leakproof. The instructions say it’s best to pre heat or pre cool the vessel before adding your beverage. I had never thought to do that with drinks even though I always do that with my daughters stainless steel lunch containers. Genius! I didn’t do that and it still kept my iced beverage cold for hours. If you fill it with ice a little over halfway, it fits a 12 oz. can of sparkling water perfectly. I used it this weekend out by the pool all day in 80+ degree weather and my drinks stayed ice cold. It fits in my Honda CRV cup holder. Overall, I’m impressed. This Transit Bottle is lightweight, leak proof, keeps my drink icy, looks nice and makes me feel fancy when I use it. I haven’t reached for another brand since Stanley arrived.

Compact & LIghtweight
This is a beautifully designed vacuum insulated tumbler from Stanley. Compared to our other name brand tumblers this one is definitely more lightweight and has a slim form factor, making it easier to fit in cupholders and backpacks. It is strawless, you do not need to remove the cap to drink, just pop the top of the cap and there is a small opening, perfect for coffee, hot chocolate, water or tea. I was really surprised at how lightweight it could be and still keep my drinks cold for the day. Love that it is leakproof and dishwasher safe. I usually hand wash my tumblers, so that is really impressive. I haven't had any leaking or performance issues with this tumbler. It simply works and is a high quality, durable product from Stanley.

Lightweight and keeps drinks chilled!
I'm really surprised by people saying this doesn't keep drinks cold because I fill it around 8 p.m. and there is still ice in it the next day at 12 p.m.! To be fair, I do use a good amount of ice (if you just add a few cubes, it may not last), but it's also nugget ice, so tiny cubes. I've used a Yeti for years and while I still love my Yeti because I can use a straw in it, this has become my new on-the-go water bottle since the top can close completely. It's much easier to hold than my Yeti because it's nice and slim and it fits perfectly in my car's cup holder. When the top is closed, I can turn this upside down and no leaking happens. I can throw it in my bag and know that nothing is going to spill. I didn't totally understand all the Stanley hype before, but I have to say I get it now!

tall thin coffee mug, coffee stays hot for 6 hours or more
This is a tall thin coffee mug. It is about 2.6 inches wide at the base, compared to most other travel mugs I own that are about 3.0 inches wide. If you have trouble fitting a standard travel mug into your cup holder, this one will probably fit. I like that the cap threads into the bottle instead of having the threads outside the bottle. I think this design holds heat in better. It seems to keep my coffee hot for longer than other lightweight travel mugs. On days when I don't drink much, I notice that my coffee is still steaming hot at least 6 hours after filling up. I don't have any trouble with leaking as long as I don't overfill the mug. The instruction manual says fill to 1/4 inch below the threads.

So pretty
Keeps beverages, hot or cold for a long time. Fits well in the car cup holder. Top plastic piece flips all the way back so it’s not hitting your face when you drink.
