Not much to say other than good price, easy replacement and if stopped the drip. You do have to pull the pin and reverse it depending if you are installing hot/cold. Refer to online videos.

DONT'T OVERTIGHTEN, IT WILL CRACK!
Be careful when installing, frame will crack if you overtighten the screws. I had second one to install.

It works, ... but way way too expensive!
It was easy to install it and it works. But it used (years ago) to be even easier to replace a rubber seat washer for 25 cents to solve all leaking problems. You just had to find the right rubber washer. I believe American Standard and the rest of faucet manufactures PURPOSELY made it more complicated, so that they could charge $20 for a replacement stem, as opposed to 25 cents for a rubber seat washer. The new does not work ANY better or last any longer than the old. So why do it, ... if not greed. Bastards!

A happy Thanksgiving camper here...
I wasn't sure of the AS model that I had and the ads are a bit confusing... seems there are 3 or so 47mm cartridges by AS and I couldn't find a good definitive site with repair AND technical difference explanations... through a process of elimination I concluded that one was for a bathroom faucet, a second was for a shower head valve that is thin enough to have "back-to-back" bathtub/shower valves in a standard wall and the third was therefore for the kitchen faucet... I was still hesitant and did more searching, to no avail, before ordering. Let me tell you that I searched in my local town and three sources did not have the valve, either AS brand or after-market... they could order one but being Thanksgiving week it wouldn't come in till the following week. Online prices varied from $10 to $25, and the shipping varied inversely (the cheaper the valve the more the shipping) I chose the $14... regular postage was about $10 and 3-5 days... but then I'm thinking... if I drove 40 miles each way ($12 gas) and 3-4 hrs of my time, I MIGHT get one tomorrow... might!!!! If they have it... I looked at the shipping options and "have it by 8pm tomorrow night" was $18... made sense to me... and I'm not going to be frustrated with traffic, snow, and disappointment when I don't find the right one... punched the button... and the next night at 6pm the UPS truck was at the front door... 15 minutes later I had my water back on in the kitchen... HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!

This is the part that I was told was no longer available
Handyman told my wife that he couldn’t repair our leaking shower faucet and suggested a plumber. The plumber said that the parts needed were no longer available. His suggestion involved basically pulling out the shower or possibly cutting a hole through the fiberglass and replacing everything. I did a little research and found this replacement part and easily installed it in 20 minutes. No more leaking faucet. And my wife thinks I’m a hero. Beware your wife will now expect you to do all your own household repairs. Could interfere with golf and fishing.

Works well, a little sloppy in the movement but no leaks. The wife finds it way smoother when moving the handle.
