Picture is inaccurate, this is updated version
Picture is inaccurate, but in a good way. It should show the updated version of the MD429, which has a covering for the hinge/strut. Pretty low profile as far as hinged knee braces go, I am able to wear mine under slim cut pants.

Works as good or better as medical units but at a savings of $700
I have purchased a lighter duty unit - NEENCA Professional Knee Brace - first https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R62C645. It was providing some good protection for light walking. It was helping me. I then went to the orthopedic doctor for my bad knee which had prior torn ligaments. He recommended a better brace for heavier use - rough surface hiking and sports. They showed me the unit they were going to get for me. Since I looked for the current brace, I knew Amazon had braces that would work just as good as the $750 unit they recommended. (I had other braces years ago which were very uncomfortable.) There are different versions and sizes that I had to deal with. My wife said at these prices, for $50 I could take the chance trying out difference styles and sizes. After much reading of reviews, I determined this is would probably work fine. I liked the one with interchangeable hinge, but I have one lighter duty unit already. This seem reasonably compact, has knee cap protection and seem like it would be comfortable since the fabric stretches rather than fold below the strap. My analysis turned out to be correct. I now can perform exercises like elliptical with good support and it was comfortable, more than the bulky older braces I had in the past. There are a few things you have to be aware: this is elastic and will be tight against you leg, when you sweat in it, it will be somewhat difficult to remove. It is suggested to be only worn for a couple of hours, you should not wear it all day, especially to sleep. I wear the other lighter unit all day when I go to work, I would not wear this one. Finally, these are wear item, even the $750 medical version. How long it lasts, depends on how much you use it. For the savings, I rather have this and other lighter versions rather than the expensive medical unit I wouldn't wear often like the two combination I have bought. BTW, my knees are getting better with my combination.

I needed a bigger size
Bought this due to a knee injury. Have been wearing my husband’s, which was an XL. I thought I needed a medium, turns out I needed a large. I did do the measurements as recommended but I still needed a size bigger

Good support and well built but it requires help from another person to remove it.
This does provide good support and is reasonably comfortable to wear. The problem comes in taking it off. Unless you have very skinny legs, this requires another person to pull it off. We ordered 1 of these to try and then ordered a second for the other leg. The first came with tabs you could use to pull it on, the second did not have those tabs and was much more difficult. The real problem was getting them off.

Sizing seems off...
Seems good quality and well built... but, I wear a large in pretty much everything and should have ordered a large for this brace. Instead, I went by the size guide, which put me in the XL range. I was surprised, but I trusted the sizing guide. If I hadn't needed the brace right away, I probably would have returned it. Don't believe the reviews that say order I size up... I'm wearing a neoprene sleeve under the brace to add some thickness so it fits better. It makes it hotter too, but the sleeve also keeps it from slipping, so that's nice. Overall, it's a nice brace, I just wish I had trusted my instincts and got the right size.

Runs small
I used it twice. Bought large because that's the size my leg measurements said I needed. But, everyone's legs are different! It fits my lower leg and knee right but it's too small for my thigh. I can force it up with great difficulty but it's uncomfortable and bot wort the effort. Wish I'd bought XL. But that might be too big for the knee.

Perfect for Runners Knees
I purchased this brace due to a knee injury called Runners Knees. A member of my running group highly recommended it. When I ordered it, it was noted the delivery time would be 3wks. Low and behold I got it today so about a week . I tested it out today on a run. It was a bit heavy and tight. I adjusted the straps that relieved some of the pressure. It has great support around the knee area. It has hinges on the inner and outer brace which stabilizes the knee. As I said I tested it on a run today. A bit heavy but very effective. It was a bit difficult to remove and that could be due to sweat. It’s true to size I ordered a medium and maybe a large would’ve given a little wiggle room. I would definitely measure your knee/leg prior to ordering . I’m looking forward to running without it but for now I’ll let it do what it do and that’s to stabilize and help with recovery. Please be mindful it’s not only for runners but for anyone with knee injuries or issues. Perfect use to recover from surgery...

Should have bought recommended size
It is comfortable, fits well and seems to be helping with my MCL injury. Most reviews advised buying a size up so I did but I am maxing out on the velcro straps and wish I have gone with the recommended size.

I can walk for longer and feel support up hills
I have arthritis in 1 knee bought on by an bably broken leg at age 16 (I am now 47) I've recently seen a surgeon who said I will need a new knee in 3 - 5 years so I need to keep the old one as mobile as possible but I was finding walking more & more painful. I bought a cheaper knee support, it kept the knee warm which does help but no real support and it was itchy. This one really does support the knee, you really feel it walking up hills and stairs, it is comfortable and I can tighten it to give extra support. I had to buy XXL as my knee is usually very swollen and since wearing it the swelling has gone down a little. I have had it for a few weeks now, I don't wear it all the time as this is not recomended but do wear it when I need to walk any distance, my school run is 2 miles up and down steep hills, I was shopping for 5 hours yeaterday, I would have had to give up sooner without it. It is a bit 'Robo Cop' cool for a man but not elegant with a skirt, I am a lady, I either wear it underneath wide leg trousers on on top of closer fitting ones. If you had the legs for it it would be good over leggings. I would love a skin tone one to wear with a dress but appart from that no complaints. Well worth the money. I also bought a sleeping knee support from boots yesterday, thats good too, I had to have a pillow under my knee to sleep but this has just enough cushioning under and side of the knee so now I don't need to keep moving the pillow as I sleep.

Actually Helps
I am awaiting knee surgery for both knees. I am unable to walk more than 30 feet. I am surviving on pain medication. I heard about this brace from a lady my husband knew. She was very favourably impressed with it. Reluctantly I bought one. What did I have to lose? It arrived in reasonable time and within the time frame given for delivery. I didn’t have much faith that it would help me. I had tried several braces on my knees which were useless. This brace is really good. I could feel the difference almost immediately. It is comfortable and is easy to get on and off. It has made such a difference. I can walk further now without my knee giving way. I still need the surgery, obviously, but in the meantime I will use the brace. I highly recommend this product. I am so happy with it I’m ordering a second one for my other knee.

The McDavid PS II delivers knee stabilization!
The product is extremely well built and, although simple in design it does an excellent job of giving knee stability. I am 88 years of age and my right knee has some arthritis and the cartilage is pretty much just a rumour. We have large lawn area which requires me to hump the mower 3 miles in order to cut and fertilize the grass. This season, to date, I have covered the area twenty (20) times. Over the years, I have used other types of knee braces and none had been able to provide the support I required until I used the Mc David PS II stabilizer. I highly recommend it!
