I replaced my existing corroded aluminum anchors with these.
The pool company wanted $650 to drill out and replace my four corroded aluminum anchors with bronze. So instead, I paid a concrete saw company $250 to core drill out four 4.25" holes around each old anchor, two for ladder and two for rail. They were able to do it without making a mess. I used 1&1/2 inch PVC pipe to make a form to insert into the new anchors for proper spacing. I stacked wood underneath the PVC to get the anchor level with the existing concrete. I used anchoring cement to pour into the holes around the new anchors. I used duct tape to cover the holes on the outside of the bottom of the anchor so that cement would not seep up through the holes before curing. I didn't have to bond the anchor because my ladder and rails are a vinyl composite material, but I did make sure to back out the screws enough so that the ladder/rail would not catch on the screw. Anchoring cement is a pain to work with. I found it best to add the water first and then gradually add cement while mixing making sure that it stayed able-to-pour. It sets quick, you you don't have a lot of time to mess with it. I made about 6 small amounts to fill all four holes. So I paid about $430 altogether for the anchors, the concrete guy, and the additional materials. It took about 2 hours of my time.

Replacment for an old, deteriorated anchor.
I recently had to replace an anchor and stair handrail at our community pool. The handrail from S. R. Smith was an excellent replacement for the 20+ year old product that was dented and discolored. The old anchor had deteriorated and would not longer hold the handrail steady, and therefore had to be replaced. The hardest part of the replacement was chipping out the old concrete and remnants of the old anchor. After that job was done, this was very easy to install and cement back into the pool deck. Because it's bronze, I suspect it will last for a long, long time. The design of the anchor ensures that we can install and tighten the handrail at the beginning of the season, then remove it for storage during the winter months while the pool is covered. This replacement is very stable and ensure the safety of our guests. Using this in a new installation would be incredibly simple, and the design of the anchor is such that it tightly anchors the rail attached to it. It's definitely worth it to buy an anchor that's made of bronze or some metal that will last, as replacing these anchors is not a pleasurable task!

Good product
I have used these anchors before and they are a good product. This one arrived quickly, and at no cost, to replace the one that did not arrive. I now have a usable pair of good anchors. Thanks Amazon.

Heavy duty, well constructed
The stainless steel anchors are well constructed, and the company that makes them is awesome. Just be careful which distributor you are getting them from because the one on Amazon is terrible. Call the manufacturer!

Totally awesome dude!
Totally awesome dude! What can I say, this is not a piece of jewelry or something. I had it professionally installed but it’s super sturdy. The price seems high but as anyone who owns a swimming pool knows, everything you buy for it is more expensive than it should be.
