For those with GI issues, this is a somewhat revolutionary item to add 2 ur toolkit. I'd pooh poohed it 4 years, even w/IBS, but now I'm a believer. This little stool helps your body not to strain or push too hard if U R in a hurry 2 go, or if U R blocked somehow or even if stools R loose. It's not a cure, of course, but with time it can help Ur body less stressfully respond to "the call". It's a relief also for gas not backed up by poop, and one ends up feeling fully emptied whether it is gas or poop. It's worth a try. One major con is how it will fit in your bathroom(s). Neither fits well with either the toilets which use less water, nor the old fashioned toilets in my little home. It's a space issue. It behooves the buyer to take the measurements seriously, b/c it will effect Ur comfort level while sitting there. I like to keep a small library in the bathrooms, as it is private and quiet and sometimes a place 2 meditate, or read heavy and deeper content. This isn't true anymore, and i've enjoyed the poop hygiene routine 4 years. Second major con: I found the height to be high for this type of relaxation, so i tend 2 push the stool (no pun intended) closer 2 the toilet when my feet start getting tingly, which is rather annoying. If one feels the urge 2 go, then one has to pull the little stool back out. Doesn't sound like that big a deal, but if you have poop hygiene behaviors, like reading on the john, thumbing thru a paper/mag/even playing on ur phone, it's just not fun. However, if U have any GI issues at all, don't waste any more time suffering, try this little "squatty potty" for better bowel movements, your body may thank U in unexpected ways. U just may not want to sit there too long in that position. Every "body" is different, so i'm still going to suggest U try it for possible gentle relief for Ur whole system. It actually does feel more natural, less stressful to the body/butt/backside. Wishing U all more comfortable pooping!
