Very warm. Great fit. Fabric rips easily against tree branches

Color is close to a “neon red” in person. Great quality pants. Very warm, and no vents, so be advised with layering. Fabric did rip slightly on a tree branch 3rd day out. So you could do better in terms of durable shell pants for tree runs. Overall happy as I got these for just over $100. Wouldn’t have paid full price, and would have been a *little* upset if I did.

Went for the price not the color

The color is bright, but while skiing. It works to your advantage. People can see you coming. Plus if you fall I. A treewell face first. People will see them bright legs sticking out. I’ve been wearing spyder since I was a kid. They used to have the coolest brand logo. Loved it. They were great then, they are still a great company now. Gor- Tex is the way to go if living in the Sierras. Never know when it will snow or rain. Seat on any chairlift. The bum will stay dry! You gotta clean these pants. Wash them, waterproof can’t keep your dry if they are dirty. Some companies say heat fixes it. Just do what the company says for maintenance. The legs will stay dry for endless winters.

Lightweight, warm, and waterproof, with a no-frills design

These aren't the fanciest ski pants around, but they offer the great performance, fit, and quality to be expected from Spyder. As a mid-range product, these pants do have some cost-reduced elements compared to pricier models, but there aren't any deal-breaking issues. In other words, the design is simple but solidly executed. The pants are impressively lightweight despite their insulated construction. At 1.5lbs, these are 1/2lb lighter but just as warm as similar ski pants I’ve worn recently. Fit is as-expected and matches Spyder’s sizing chart, but the waist doesn’t offer any leeway over its stated maximum (36" for Medium). Be sure to consider the thickness of any layers you might wear when choosing a size. Elastic adjusters allow the waist to be reduced, but their 3/4"-wide Velcro pads seem less robust than the 1.25"-wide ones on my old ski pants. These ski pants have a relatively no-frills design, including just three pockets and lacking some of the features found on more premium offerings. There are no thigh-vent zippers, so these pants can feel a bit toasty on warmer days. The leg openings are non-gusseted, so pulling the cuffs down over your ski boots isn’t as easy as it could be. These pants do feature internal gaiters to keep snow out, but their elastic bands provide only minimal rubber-grip (needed to keep them from slipping up/off your boots). Visible branding on the pants is low-key: just a text or graphic logo on each leg. It would have been nice if the waist snap-buttons included some design or logo, as their grey plastic looks very plain. Overall, these ski pants are relatively basic but deliver very strong fundamentals: excellent waterproofing, good warmth, high-quality construction, and a great fit. Definitely worth considering if you can get them below the $200+ list price.

Almost worth keeping

Runs a little large very very chunky which is to be expected with ski pants but I would like if they were a bit slimmer, the description says that they come with suspenders which for me is a must with ski pants they do not. Overall pretty good product but am going to have to return

Spider Active Men's Gore Tech Ski Pants

Ordered an XL where normally a Large size would fit and it was too small. It's frustrating that a name brand such as Spyder is resorting to cutting costs like this. They used to be a reliable and reputable brand. This is not the first time for me.

Expected Better!

I only wore these pants a few times, and the button broke. Very poor quality buttons. I would have returned them but missed the deadline by a day. Very disappointed as I trusted Spyder for much better quality.
