Very Elegant

I love these dies. They are so elegant and pretty. I have the Vagabond Die Cutter Machine. I ran it through twice. But, it does not cut thin paper well because the paper rips due to small twists and turns when you disengage the paper.

Foiling plates with coordinating cutting dies.

I really like that these have matching cutting dies. It creates more professional results. I wish there was a get well sentiment as well.

Very Elegant! Super Easy to Use

I am new to foiling. I use these metal stamps & dies with my Gemini FoilPress and they work very well. The sentiments come out clear and the dies cut cleanly. I then used the "waste" on card stock and also have great results. I foil pressed the sentiment, then used the dies - so easy. I tried foiling with the die on the hot plate and building upward as well as reversing the order of the stamp, foil and card stock. Both work equally well. I have always had great success with Spellbinders and this set is no exception.

Beautiful sentiments!

I absolutely LOVE these beautiful sentiments with shadow dies. I used this one with holographic foil and it's just gorgeous! I would definitely buy this set of hotplates/dies again!

These DO NOT WORK with my foiling equipment

Buyer beware... Unless you have this exact brand of foiling equipment do not buy this product because it will not work. Also you need to know that if you return it Amazon will charge you for the shipping fee. ????

Work OK in Cuttlebug machine

***Update (25 Sep 21) – I was able to successfully ink, emboss and cut my sentiments with the Cuttlebug. Using ink saved significant time and the results turn out pretty great. I've included a new picture as well. How I did this is: 1 – Put tape on bottom of die with sticky side and sentiment facing the same direction – this will help hold the die on the cardstock during embossing so that the ink doesn't smear. 2 – I used a brayer (i.e. little roller) to ink the sentiment in the colour desired. I rolled the ink onto the sentiment. Make sure you have good coverage on all parts of the sentiment. 3 – I placed the die onto the cardstock and pressed the tape down to hold it without moving the die. 4 – I slide the die onto my cutting plates and embossed the image as completed previously below.*** **Update (3 Jul 21) - Still using these with the Cuttlebug for embossing and outline cutting. I've attached a newer picture showing the results of the embossed image after using marker to colour in the detail. It really pops nicely. They make nice additions to greeting cards. I've also tried using glue with glitter, as well as watercolour marker, to add in the negative embossing sentiment. However, the plain marker worked the best as the watercolour markers do run a little once applied.** I ordered these to have some greeting sentiments on hand for card-making. I knew they wouldn't be exactly what I wanted when I ordered but decided to give them a try. The price point is quite high though for what you get. We received all 5 sentiments with corresponding 5 cutting dies. The sentiments themselves are quite thick compared to the dies so they definitely need to be used individually by embossing the sentiment first then positioning the cutting die to border the sentiment and taping it in place to the surrounding cardstock. For best embossing results, do not use a lightweight cardstock and spritz both sides of the cardstock with water to help prevent cracking of the paper around the sentiment. With some playing of the sandwich we were able to get these to work OK with the Cuttlebug. It creates an indented sentiment so you could colour it in with ink or paint or rub ink around the exterior to make it show up better. We do have the tan embossing mat but found it was a little thick in the sandwich so substituted a silicone cookie sheet cut to size. The sandwich that we found to work best with our machine is as follows: Embossing – A plate, B plate, Embossing die (face up), Cardstock (desired side down towards the die), Silicone Cookie mat (cut to size), B plate. Cutting (border) – A plate, C plate, Cutting Die – cutting side up (taped to cardstock in position), B plate. We have started changing our sandwiching up to have all dies – embossing and cutting – face up so that the same plate is always taking the punishment. We are also finding it easier to determine whether the designs are fully cut-out or have to be run through again with them face up. You can alter as desired and for what you are used to. We also recently found replacement cutting plates for the Cuttlebug on Amazon so we are very happy about that. However, we are still trying to keep all cutting to one plate. Brilliant

I recently purchased a hot foil plate that runs through my big shot. Never seen one before. Never done this before. First attempt with a normal thinlit die did not work. (Although the online tutorial said it would! Maybe it was the die I used) So I found these. Look like dies, but are solid, not hollow, like a normal die. They work brilliantly! Very first go. Perfect words on card! Look beautiful and professional and it’s so easy! I paid under £40 for my foil heating pad, and the seller kindly sent me some foils for free as I’ve never done it before. These dies are cheap in price(for what you get), but very well made. The other lovely thing, is they DO come with a die ‘surround’ that means you can foil your sentiment, then cut it out! So you can make 3D sentiments, not just stamping it straight onto the card if you choose not too. They can also be used just to emboss, which they do beautifully. (I found that out because I’d put my card in but left it folded! So it embossed it too on the inside!) I paid £13 plus £5 postage. Give or take a few pennies. And you get five sentiments with their matching surround die. You get; Happy Birthday, Thankyou, Congratulations, Happy Anniversary and With sympathy. So a good rounded set for every occasion. The perfect beginners kit. I highly recommend these. And will vouch for the fact they work with my bigshot with a different foil machine than the spellbinder one. I needed the hot foil platform, stamp chosen (face up), foil(face down), card (face down the side I wanted to stamp on) One die cutting plate/pad, thick card shim and a thin card shim, in that order for my result. Note only ONE cutting plate/pad. The hot foil platform is kind of like the basic thick platform that comes with your bigshot, in thickness and is quite long, although not as long as an extended platform. But not all of it is the ‘hot plate’ so I only needed a standard size cutting pad. I highly recommend these. And I felt so proud of my efforts!

Good product

I like these, good selection of sentiments in a nice font except the 'Congratulations' seriously looks like cAngratulatiAns - however if, unlike me, you've not had a career in proof-reading, I suspect your brain will tell you what you THINK you see, rather than what you actually see.
