First real transmitter...seems ok but there are still issues.

As my first real transmitter I was excited to get this in the mail. When I went to connect it to WiFi it didn't work. I did the update through the USB connector and the WIFI still didn't work, it would freeze on the screen no matter how long I waited it wouldn't pull up WIFI networks at all. Sent it back for replacement the replacement did the same thing. Customer service is well aware of the issue and told me a future update is expected to fix the problem. Seems like we are beta testing the product that is relatively expensive...bummer. Other than that it seems to work fine. I got an email asking me to video the problem for tech support, but now the feature somehow works ok. Don't know if the radio needs to be in a new mode or something? All I've done is add a couple of models to the radio...maybe that kicked something loose in the programming cause I can now use it with wifi (not that the wifi really gains you much). I've been happy with the voice prompts that can be setup to inform you of the different switch positions and what you've programmed them to do etc. As a newbie it seems pretty intuitive. I did read the manual but figured most of it out just by playing around with it. Overall I'm happy with the purchase but then again I don't have experience with other radios just bought this one base on YouTube videos that are out there.

Great transmitter

Great radio overall. Only complaint is that it doesn’t allow me to transfer models over from a Gen 1 DX8.

Used radio received

The radio I received was used and I could not register it because it was already registered to someone else. In Addition, the receiver was not included. Sent it back and purchasing directly from Horizon Hobby. What a hastle.

Disappointed, way over priced

I have a few spektrum radio's the original dx6, a dx7 and a beat up dx9, this NX8 hardly compares to the build quality of the earlier models, It's cheap. The battery they give you is a joke. A single 18650 in a large compartment made for a much larger battery, i dont know what they were trying to accomplish with that, the switches feel cheap, my earlier radios have the "jewel" switches which are top notch. the antenna is questionable, and the wifi feature is hit or miss. Overall not an impressive radio at the price point they set it at. If i could do it all over again, i would have gone with the futaba or maybe the horus.

Poor quality control. Lost rudder channel after two weeks of use

The media could not be loaded. Initially I was impressed and excited to use this new transmitter. Ive been flying RC planes, helis, and quads for over 15 years. After two weeks of use, I noticed that my rudder was not responding correctly due to the transmitter sending a full left signal even with the stick centered. I found that if I gently tapped the transmitter case with the palm of my hand, the radio would start responding correctly, but then would go back to full left signal with the stick centered. Reached out to Horizon tech support that had me perform a stick calibration, but the issue did not change. Pretty disappointed with the overall quality control as well as the contributing factor the radio played in the crash of my brand new E-Flite Turbo Timber Evolution- thankfully that will fly again, but not with this radio.
