"Comically small".

With summer coming up, my growing kid needed a new swimsuit, and with the pandemic still going on, I wasn't especially interested in heading to the mall. "What size do you need?" "Extra Small or Small." "Um... these have numbers." "What kind of numbers?" "It starts at 22." "22!?! That's way too big for me!" "Um... these don't look very big. And the numbers go up from there." I like to think that I'm at least reasonably sharp, so I consulted Speedo's site. Helpfully, they have an interactive size finder for each series of swimsuit. Boom. It says 22. I'll get 22. Well. 22 is "like a kid's suit". Not involving myself with the trying-on, my wife concurred. A 22 was "comically small". So, for example's sake, a 22 is way too small for someone who was wearing a kid's swimsuit last year, and hasn't had a growth spurt since then. Outside of that, the construction and design of the suit were both given high marks -- but it doesn't really matter if the suit won't go on.
