Excellent low water usage handheld showerhead
I live in southern California so we have water restrictions. I replaced a Methven handheld showerhead known for low water usage while giving an excellent spray pattern. I decided to try this Speakman Caspian showerhead because of its reputation for being used in luxury hotels. This Speakman showerhead does not disappoint. Rated at 1.75 GPM but I tested with 65 psi water pressure and only uses 1.4 GPM! The Speakman showerhead is only 3.75" wide but the spray pattern gets wider to about 14" from about 16" away from the showerhead so it almost covers my shoulders. The streams of water overlap from the 5 individual shower ports to give full coverage and are more like a waterfall rather than being so thin like pin needles. The massage feature works great too. The cherry on top is my wife's seal of approval! Installation is straightforward and was a 5-minute affair. I did have to use teflon tape on the showerhead holder joint and tightened it with a crescent wrench (don't tighten too much, 1/4 to 1/2 a turn after it gets hand tight) but no teflon was needed from the hose on either end. Just make sure to put the right end of the hose in the correct place. There is a tape indicator on the hose which should be connected to the showerhead holder and of course, the other end goes to the showerhead. This showerhead is also supposed to be self-cleaning so time will tell.

Excellent but with some caveats
I finally got fed up enough with our weak shower pressure to do something definitive about it. Purchasing this Speakman VS-3014 was part of the overall solution. I absolutely love the simple elegant design with no compromise of utility. Concentrating the water into 5 "mini-heads" maximizes the use of what water pressure you do have and it looks cool too! In spite of the high-quality appearance I do not like the creaky plastic construction. I really wish they would have made a chrome-plated brass version like the ICON S-2252. I get the feeling using the shower head that it won't stand up to many years of use and that I'll be replacing this as often as "el cheapo" home improvement store showers. As much as Speakman markets this as a "high-pressure" device, in practice I do not believe that this is true - unless they mean taking high pressure inlet water and reducing it to a limp stream. It comes with 2 flow regulators. One in the flexible line that they call a "vacuum breaker" which does serve a purpose beyond dropping water pressure but it certainly is much more effective at that. This is a white part that looks like an old speaker. Do not snap this off unless you are prepared to remove the white fitting from the hose and grind the base down flush to accept the rubber sealing washer. The second flow regulator is in the inlet of the shower handle. Its a plastic aerator-looking device with a solid round center and a small o-ring covering up part of the water flow opening. This can be pried out without any worries. NOTE: Speakman's documentation calls the metal screen in the base that mounts to the shower's bent elbow a "flow regulator". That term is laughable and deceptive as it is not really what is restricting flow and dropping pressure from shower inlet to outlet. Their so-called "flow-regulator" is a mineral and debris trap and is good to keep to prevent debris in the water from entering the shower head and clogging the internals. 2.5 GPM regulation: The federal regulation is well-intentioned and actually 2.5 gallons/min is a LOT of water. The problem I have (as many others probably do) is in the application of this regulation by the govt. and/or the manufacturers. It seems like each manufacturer is required to treat the inlet flow to their device as something greater than 2.5 GPM and then they add passive flow regulators to ensure the outlet flow is no more than 2.5 GPM. The problem is that there is always more than one device inline (ex. the shower valve then the shower) and we are left with this cascading effect of multiple flow regulators reducing the flow down to something hardly usable. I have a Moen shower value that I had to disassemble and modify to reduce the flow restriction. Even with that and the two Speakman regulators removed I get 1.4 GPM flow in my shower. I didn't measure what it was before this project but it was indeed terrible. My 2006-built house has puny pipes going up to the bathroom (sigh). It would be great if these shower manufacturers (hey Speakman!) would add some kind of hydraulic active flow regulation to their products so if the inlet flow from the house and valve to the shower head is 2.5GPM or less there is no additional flow restriction - only restrict what is above 2.5GPM. ----- Update 11/19/2015 (the less-obvious hydraulic flow regulator) ----- The shower is still working great. In my quest to conquer lousy flow I replaced the Speakman flexible sprayer hose that has the "vacuum breaker" flow restrictor with a standard sprayer hose replacement like this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QNIT7OI It was pretty inexpensive and produced a noticeable improvement over the original Speakman hose. My next step will be to replace the shower mount arm with a model like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JYPDFY0 This has a more uniform flow cavity which will more closely match the pressure and flow of the incoming water from your wall. The original Speakman arm is a larger, hollow vessel whereby incoming water dumps into a larger-volume area and exits out of the other small outlet causing a lower, turbulent flow. This is a less-obvious hydraulic flow regulator. So in the end I'll have only the Speakman handheld spray head but I should also have a pretty decent bump in how it actually flows. Hopefully Speakman will address these flow issues in future product revisions - or if not just sell the handheld spray head separately. :-)

Nice Shower Head
Nice shower head, I like this brand. I didn't order the correct GPM so the water stream is weaker than desired (2.0 gpm vs. 2.5 gpm). When water is mixed at temperature, one can hear water humming/whooshing, which makes me believe the pressure reducing device is too small for our water pressure.

Excellent Shower Head, Excellent Support
I bought this shower head because the deal for the used one was way too good to let pass! Somehow, only the main head (Speakman S-3014) came. I called Speakman directly and the lady that answered was awesome! She had me set up with the additional parts shipped AT NO COST, in around 5-7 minutes! They arrived in 4 days with all the needed accessories ready to build and install. I put all the components together and installed the shower head that day. Both the main shower head and detachable unit have excellent pressure and is surprisingly quiet. I liked it so much so that I ended up buying a new unit to have this config in both bathrooms! 10/10 would DEFINITELY recommend. Note, the components are all plastic except for the hose shroud and installation option that ships with the wand unit. However, none of the pieces feel cheap, or flimsy to me or my wife.

Just okay
Bought this to try and get a decent shower with the really low water pressure in the house I'm renting but unfortunately doesn't deliver as much water pressure as I'd like. Build quality is reasonable, no issues there. The "anystream" adjustability is limited to either a wide-pattern spray or massage function. I'd figured it would at least allow you to adjust how wide the spray pattern is to get a more focused shower with limited water pressure but it doesn't work that way.

overpriced but looks nice and no issues with performance
this is a regular showerhead that looks kind of nice, I avoided the more square looking one because people mentioned it seem cheap/light, well that's the same issue with this one! It works well has a good stream (once you take out the water restrictors (see the .com review) but feels like cheap plastic, very light - definitely not worth the price but they do look a little nicer than the competition and I have no issues with leaking - Which I had the more square version since it would have fit better with my bathroom and sounds like it is made the same.

I would like to point out that you need a reasonable amount ...
Seems to work as advertised. One can make some minor modifications if desired. I would like to point out that you need a reasonable amount of teflon tape when installing this. Relying on what they provide -- if you don't lose it like I did -- will most likely set yourself up for some disappointment. Also, the cable hose screws on completely with no threads showing if you've got on the right way round. I had not installed it correctly initially and there were a few threads still visible. If I had known that instead of discovering that by trial and error would have saved me some consternation and angst because in my feverish ripping off the plastic I couldn't remember which end had the cardpaper tab attached. If the instructions just said which end was what then it would have been simpler. Oh well. Anyway, it does work quite well and there aren't any leaks. Recommended.

that made it half decent but not great. My husband installed this one the day we ...
I thought our water pressure was too low upstairs and took out the "low flow" device on our previous showerhead, that made it half decent but not great. My husband installed this one the day we got it, and it is wonderful. I don't use the options, just the full spray. We left the low flow gadget in this one, and it gives a nice full spray with just the right pressure. Showering is faster now and finally my hair is rinsed well and quickly.

Nice design
I bought this Speakman hand held hoping that it would have the same intense shower pressure that the single shower heads do in the hotels where I've seen them. While it does provide good pressure and several spray options, I don't think it has the same pressure as my previous shower head. On the positive side, I love the design and look of it in my shower. The adjustment to change the shower spray pattern is a rotating dial so that makes it easy to move from one spray option to another. Overall, I really like this product and feel it is good value for the money.
