Makes cleaning mushrooms a lot easier

I bought this because we're trying to eat less meat and more veggies, and mushrooms make a good substitution for meat. They give foods the umami flavor without the meat. But having to clean a boatload of mushrooms can get tiresome. This brush makes it a lot easier and faster. I'd definitely buy this again.

Nice little mushroom brush

I've been using this Cuisinox brush for just over a year and I've been pretty happy with it. It's comfortable in the hand and doesn't take much room in the pack. It's just a little small and a little light, soft and flexible. I do think the bristles could be a little stiffer, but this brush does get the job done.

Good but a little too firm

Works quite well but the bristles are firmer than I would have liked. A mushroom brush I had in the past had softer bristles, so it was gentler on the mushrooms.

Love it!

This little brush is great for all my mushrooms! We are huge mushroom lovers. We love them in salads, sauces, pizza , frittatas, and more. We have quite a few brushes that we use for different veggies and we keep them separate from each other. I know it sounds odd but keeping them separate has saved veggies, mushrooms, potatoes, etc from going bad and ending up in the compost pile. I suspect it’s because the different skins destroy the bristles. I labeled each and have a little container with drawers I keep them in.

Nice but the Bristles Are Too Firm for Mushrooms

Nice little gadget for cleaning celery or potatoes, but you could shred your mushrooms if you aren't very, very careful. Would prefer softer bristles so this got returned.

Great little brush

I’ve always used a damp paper towel to clean my mushrooms. I just received this tiny brush last week & it is perfect. I had some mushrooms that were real dirty & the brush took every spect of dirt. My only complaint is that I didn’t buy it years ago!

Does the job without damaging the mushrooms. Rinse or wash as needed. Good value.

A Mushroom Brush REALLY Does Work!

Never heard about needing a brush for mushrooms until started using Portabellas regularly ... now very glad got one since cannot otherwise clean fresh mushrooms or they get too soggy ... it actually works & has VERY soft bristles ... with a cute little ergonomic hand-hold design that makes manipulating it easy. I use it just for my mushrooms so it remains uncontaminated. I also treated mine with Mineral Oil since it is made of wood & that safeguards it for gentle hand washing ... just like wooden cutting boards & spoons & rolling pins. Their longevity is what makes them all cost-feasible items but they MUST be cared for properly. Description for the brush really SHOULD mention that!

The very soft bristles are perfect for cleaning mushrooms.

The gentle bristles do a great job of cleaning mushrooms without damaging the vegetable. Moisten the brush with water then gently brush away any dirt.

Excellent little tool

Spent many years resisting the idea of buying a mushroom brush. I would wipe the mushrooms with a damp towel or - horrors - actually wash them in the sink. I finally capitulated and chose to order this one as I have found the brand to be reliable. Also liked the wooden top and general aesthetics. I’m delighted with the product. Yesterday I powered through several pounds of mushrooms and found this tool worked perfectly; the bristles are exactly firm enough to eliminate the compost without tearing into the mushroom. And the brush fits very comfortably in the hand.
