Love, love

Love, love, love these shorts. I've had two pairs of these since March and they've been worn/washed frequently. Compared to a pair of (very similar) Danskin bike shorts which I also own, Spalding's shorts are softer, stretchier, and have a more secure hidden vertical pocket down the inside of the left leg; great for sticking in a debit card and a cellphone when you're on the go and can't take a handbag. Danskin's cotton knit for bike shorts are thicker and don't dry out as quickly as Spalding's do, which is a huge downside if you're wearing them in a hot, wet climate (like mine). They also don't ride up, and the waist band is smooth, soft elastic! TL;DR-- Spalding's shorts are softer, dry quicker, have more practical hidden pockets, and won't shrink even after months of washing and wear. Overall: 10/10!

Comfortable and basic active wear shorts.

I just wanted a simple, active wear pair of shorts to use while visiting Disney. Since you do a lot of walking and it was summer, I figured it would be the most comfortable thing to do--which it was! I'm 5'3", 135 pounds with 36" hips and I purchased a Medium. It fits well, and of course since it's spandex, it allows a little more breathing room if that were to change!

Better than most

These are great for everyday wear under skirts. They're stretchy and long enough for good coverage. The one downside is that they don't last particularly long. I wear these because I have thunderthighs but I love wearing skirts, and I need shorts to prevent painful rubbing. With everyday wear these don't last a particularly long time, but it's hard enough to find ones that fit comfortably and are long enough that I'll stick with these and just buy new pairs every few months.

Not as described.

I ordered these, as I order the Spalding cotton leggings and capris ALL the time. The product said it was 92% cotton and 8% spandex, which is what I standardly receive. The product I got today is 88% spandex. I will keep them and give them a try, but I love that spalding has the breathable cotton pair. I just didn’t receive the correct product. I am guessing that they have changed, and this is no my updated. Bummer! If you like spandex, go for these. If not, don’t order them.

I have bought several pairs of these, and wear them under dresses and skirts every day, even when I don't bike. They hold up and are comfortable without being lumpy under a fitted dress. I like that they are long enough to actually stay down (I hate shorts that just roll up my thigh), but still short enough to wear a dress above the knee without them showing. I also like the media pocket on the inside - though with how big phones are getting, would be nice if if was a little larger. Still great to have the option though, particularly days when I'm wearing dresses or skirts that don't have any pockets.

Just what I was looking for

I have a hard time finding cotton-blend shorts for running. Well these are mostly cotton,probably 100% but I'm too lazy to check. They are exactly what I wanted! The reason I didn't give five stars is because there is a small hole along the seam that runs right up and down your...backside. I have no clue how it could have gotten there but for now I am putting a pair of black underwear underneath and voila! I have probably only worn them less than 20 times so the hole is disappointing. It's at a position you wouldn't experience any wear so I'm not sure what happened but i definitely recommended these and I will be buying another pair

Super comfortable and thick

5’3” and 135lbs. I tend to carry my weight on my lower half. (Size 26 pants). The medium fits perfect. It’s snug in my thighs and butt and comfortable around my waist (lays flat on my stomach versus digging in and creating a muffin top). I dont have any problems with them sliding down either. A small would have been fine on the legs and would have definitely dig in around my stomach.

When I first put these shorts on, it was almost comical! They were really tight around the waist! (I'm a size 18, ordered an XL) But then they loosened up. Not too much to where they'd fall down! But enough to be comfortable. Now I love them! I got them to wear under dresses and they're much more comfortable and breathable than shape wear because they are mostly cotton. So don't be discouraged if you get them and they look really small! They will stretch just enough to fit perfectly!

Didn't have a high expectation but turned out to be perfect for me

I was looking for something I can wear under a dress. Didn't have a high expectation but turned out to be perfect for me. It's not thin but not too thick, just perfect to keep my legs warm on a cool summer day and they stay in place, no riding up. Wish they have other colors like beige or skin color. Not sure these would work as a bike shorts but serves my purpose.

I like the shorts they are comfortable but do not like how thin the material is. Can almost see through it.
