Skin tight but still comfy

Im 5’2 118 lbs and I was surprised by how tight the medium is. Regardless, they are flattering and comfortable! Love these leggings. I also have them in a large.

Nice & Thin

I love the fact they’re cotton! These leggings feel thin b/c I feel every breeze. But, luckily they aren’t see through. So, for me, they’re perfect for the gym and warm, sunny days.

Different waist band but good fabric

Pretty good. The fabric is a nice material. The waist band is different than other Spalding leggings I've had in the past and is tighter and thinner.

Perfect if seams didn't rip

I have bought both the regular and the high waisted leggings. I love them, not sheer, never roll down.....BUT, I've always had a problem with the inseam ripping on every pair. I'm not hard on them, I use them for walking. I wore them to physical therapy the other day and right before my appointment I looked down before I got out of the car, and there was a huge rip on my inner thigh seam. I had no choice but to go in like that. ????‍♀️ They would be perfect if they were a little better material.

Not the same as the traditional ankle legging

I only just received these today, and so far so decent. I have three pairs of the Spalding ankle legging (later rebranded as the essential ankle legging), which comes and has always come in only three colors - black, charcoal, and navy. My black pair is over three years old, and my gray pair over two, and while they're faded and thinning a bit, they still hold up. The blue pair is newer than I'd realized - I've only had them for 5 months, but I've worn them regularly in that time. They recently developed a small hole in the thigh. I would love to blame this on declining quality, but it could also be that I'm constantly pulling them up by the thigh (I could probably solve this issue by sizing up). I've been wanting other colors and finally discovered these high-waisted ones, but only ordered a single pair in case they were as thin or poor-quality as other reviews stated. Other than the wider waistband, these seem similar in feel and thickness to my navy pair - the fabric might not be quite as soft, but my blue pair have been washed weekly all winter, so it's hard to tell. Likewise with sizing - the new pair feels just a bit snug, but my blue pair may well have felt that way at first and stretched out after use. Still, these new ones are not ridiculously thin or stiff, and they seem to pass the squat test just fine, despite being lighter in color than any of my other pairs. They seem good enough that I ordered two more pair in the capri length. The verdict is still out on whether they will develop holes or soften up a bit, but I'm giving four stars because I really don't want Spalding to stop making cotton leggings - they are impossible to find unless you buy organic, in which case, you're paying two to three times as much.

Favorite

These are my favorite leggings/yoga pants. Not see through, high rise helps suck in the belly. Love them.

Great fit, comfy, and great for 24-hour wear, slightly sheer at knees

My son says he can't see through them in the back (underwear area), but I can see my skin through my knees. Nonetheless, I love the feel of these and they fit great so if I can verify that they are not see-through in the back, I'm being more, so long as the price doesn't go up before I do that. I like to get a good deal, and these were very reasonable. The look is more like cotton, rather than the shiny technical fabric I expected, and I like it. I like the cotton look because I'm wearing them for casual wear at home, to bed, on neighborhood hill hikes, and on my rare errands during the pandemic. They are plenty long for me, even though I have a 33" inseam and still have an extra 1.5 inches of length beyond the top of my ankle. So, they bunch up a little but I like that as I don't like short leggings or leggings that pull up when I exercise. I like them to cover all my skin so I'm not cold when it's chilly outside. I wear a medium, and the length probably depends on weight. Right now, I'm around 140 pounds and am 5'7." I feel I could wear these when I'm 124 pounds but I would want to size up to a large if I gained more than 2-3 pounds. So, right now, a large would also probably be comfortable on me. Since I'm usually thinner, a medium is good for me since it will still work when I lose some weight.

Beware the tight, thick waistband in the “high waisted” style

I got these leggings because I previously bought them in the Capri length and absolutely LOVE them. So I decided to get some more in the longer length— but I soon found out that there was another difference between the two. My beloved capris sit above my bellybutton, so I assumed they were “high waisted” like nearly all the other leggings out there in 2019. I was wrong... my capris must be “mid rise” because the new leggings have a much higher waist, and a much heavier, tighter waist band that sits an inch below my boobs and drives me crazy. Unfortunately I’ve already taken the tags off and worn them, thinking I was just fat and that they would probably stretch out a bit. Only after trying on the capris again did I really see the full difference between them. So now I’ve got to be careful to order the mid rise leggings. I really hope this high-waisted trend goes away soon, it’s getting more than a little ridiculous when “mid rise” is at least a full inch above your bellybutton! However, the mid rise version is SUPER COMFY and I love them so much, they’re my favourite capris and hopefully will be my fav ankle length leggings once I get them.

Good quality!

I like these a lot and find them generally comfortable. However they became even more comfortable when I snipped the elastic on the waistband. I don't know why manufacturers think the waist has to pinch so much. If the pants fit, an extremely tight waist is not necessary to keep them up! I bought a medium and my waist measures about 28", so I'm not buying something too small and then complaining because it's tight.

Leggings

I love the way they feel and wash beautifully. They keep their shape all the time. I knew when I order them it said high waisted and I wanted to make sure they were high enough. They are a little higher than I anticipated but its all good.
