Makes cutting armored cable easy!
After struggling with cutting armored cable with snips and sidecutters, I bought this tool. Quickly and accurately cuts the cable with no wire damage. If you do any work at all with armored cable you need this tool!

Seatek has apparently been acquired several times recently. Apparently the product is still being being manufactured using the same process that was employed upteen years ago. Basically, the die-cast two parts and the manually adjust each on by filing/grinding areas on the two parts so that they don't contact each other until the cutter has penetrated deep enough to cut through the conduit. I have seen two of them because I returned the first one; it would not cut deep enough to cut 1/2" flex. I observed that the grinding/filing was done haphazardly without any concept of that they were trying to accomplish. There were large burrs turned up by the filing and the areas what were filed/ground were different on each unit. With the second one, I decided to fix it myself. I removed the lever that carries the blade and ground the entire under-surface flat with a slight taper until it was thin enough that the entire lever came into contact with the lower portion. This allows the blade to protrude almost twice as far (and allows the depth adjust screw to actually do something). If they were to (gasp!) modernize their process by using a CNC mill to clean up the parts after casting instead of manual filing and grinding, they could make a consistent, quality product. Don't but this unless you are prepared to re-manufacture it. Once fixed, it is far superior to the Greenlee.

Quality & Easy to Use Tool- Made in USA!
1-28-20 I'm reviewing the Southwire RS-101A Seatek Roto-Split Super BX Cable Stripper. I needed something for work as lately I've been installing Waste Oil Heaters in garages. I use MC cables in 3/8" 14/2 and 1/2" in 12/2 or 12/3. The older splitter I have is strictly for 1/2" MC , I believe, so it was a struggle whenever using the tool for the 3/8" MC. This was an issue for me because I had far more 3/8" MC plumbing to do than the 1/2" MC. I had borrowed an adjustable splitter from a friend. What a joy! Never an issue to make a definitive split the 1st time, while making a clean cut. Made the terminations so much easier. One of the things that attracted me to THIS particular brand or tool, was that it was made in America. The good reviews with a good price point were also taken into consideration. Being adjustable was huge for me. I've now used this for a couple months. This tool was quite easy to use for the most part. Intuitive, especially since I've used similar styles. None were this brand. I'd like to add that although the handle does contain a compartment for spare cutting wheels, this does not come with any EXTRAS in there. It comes with the one wheel already mounted. Of all the splitter tools I've used, I don't ever recall them wearing down significantly or even ever having replaced one. I think if used in the correct application and manner, these wheels should last years without needing a replacement. The only exception is maybe someone doing or using this tool daily. This tool is comfortable in the hand. I like how easy it is to load the MC cable, and while loaded make adjustments if needed. I think I find it easier to use than the splitter my friend lent me. I would recommend this tool, for sure. If I had to choose all over again or lost this one, this is the tool I'd reorder for sure. I noticed priced increased since my purchase, but they tend to fluctuate on Amazon, plus it also depends on the seller I've seen. I bought this from the seller "Amazon LLC" and fulfilled by Amazon, which I feel is important to list this info. I've come across sellers with variances in their items, including knockoffs, even if listed as same brand. I'll post an update with a durability review.

Worked well
Well built made in the USA. Easy to use and you can control depth of cut. You will have to adjust the depth of the cutter as I found mine cut a little to deep. I would have liked to have seen a lock nut on the depth adjustment to lock it into place after adjustment. I recommend that you test and adjust you Roto- Flex on scrap cable prior to putting it to work. The reason I did not give it 5 out of 5 was because I would have liked to have seen a lock nut on the depth adjustment and the instructions were missing.

I am one who used the hacksaw technique on BX cable. I didn't even know that the Southwire Tool existed until I ran across it on YouTube. I checked comparisons on various other models and decided to go for their version. I have to admit that at first I was not too convinced but I watched their video on how to use it and now I am a CONVERT! The package was well sealed and it was easy to screw in the handle. The components appear very well made and after only several tries I am now getting clean smooth cuts. It took a few cuts since I had to get used to feeling when the tool actually completed the cut. So far I can only say good things about the Southwire RS-101AC and have no hesitation recommending it to other skeptics!

Useful and decrease time of work on bx wires
I watched reviews everywhere even on the website of videos (i wont tell the name here to respect the rules) to figure which bx wire was the best for everyday job and this one was at the top. A bit more expensive to its concurence like klein but worth it. Made in USA even if I’m Canadian I’m trying to get best quality for everything. It does well it’s job. Only cons are when you try something to hit the middle to make the cut something you have to make sure that you use the red pin if its a small bx. The other con is you have to turn approximately 7-8 turns to make sure you got the proper cut so you can remove the piece of shielding you don’t need. Despite those 2 cons I highly recommend this item it saves time and make a good cut so the shield cant make cut to the wires.

Does the job
It's nice to cut NM wire square in the box but it doesn't feel quite the same quality of the Klein NM side cutters. That being said if you have OCD about your cuts, this tool is handy.

Poor workmanship
Product was defective and poorly assembled. Tool does not work with 1/2" BX and a steel pin that holds the 2 halves of the assembly together at the pivot point was to short. See picture
