Great Hook and Loop Tabs
These have hook and loop similar to what you find on Carter’s bibs. It’s smooth to the touch and strong. I prefer the polyester shell fabric on these over the muslin as it’s less likely to snag while washing. It’s easy to use any inserts you like in these and they stuff faster than traditional pocket cloth diapers.

DISAPPOINTING
I REALLY wanted to like these. I’ve been cloth diapering for almost a year and currently have two in diapers full time. leaks happen. especially overnight. And these promised more absorption. A new hybrid special system. So I gave it a shot. The diaper is like a plain shell with a little sling to hold the inserts. The sling means the inserts can be held in place without snaps (so you can theoretically use any insert) and they don’t move out of position while putting it on a wiggly booty. The sling isn’t attached in the middle to the cover and is fully water proof. That means the outer shell can remain ‘untouched’ if you change it soon enough. You would just wipe the sling and put in a new insert. That’s the great thing about plain covers and inserts. And since the sling keeps it in place you avoid the insert falling out of place while wrestling the diaper onto your kiddo. The sling also functions as a double gusset. Some people love double gussets- they prevent leaks and spray clean easily. I do not. They pinch my kiddos and when I spray them I get sprayed back (unpleasant considering what you spray off). As for the actual inserts and covers: there are different fabric options FOR THE SHELL- the part that doesn’t touch baby skin. The inserts are pre-folds made mostly of polyester. Polyester is horrible! You really want cotton or bamboo- microfiber and polyester just don’t breathe and that’s a sensitive area. Plus polyester doesn’t absorb as much as other options (like hemp or bamboo infused microfiber) These do come with a booster pad and disposable boosters which help. Then there’s the size issue. These diapers are not one size fits all with ways to adjust as baby grows. These diapers have sizes like traditional disposables. Thankfully the inserts have some overlap (the inserts I have are labeled 3/4 while the shells clearly say one or the other). These things are expensive. You need at least 14 diapers per kiddo and with this diapering system that’s 14 per kiddo, per size?! The box says these diapers are fashionable, and the solid colors are nice. But generally speaking you don’t see the diapers and you can get all kinds of cool prints and patterns in any brand of cloth diaper. These use a velcro closure instead of snaps. Velcro means you get a snugger fit. These have a special tab to fold them to when you wash so they don’t get stuck to each other and tangled up- a very nice touch. Velcro also wears out faster than snaps. And with that we come to the ‘eco-friendly’ claim… Cloth diapers reduce landfill waste. They also add a lot more waste water and detergent use. This diaper system has disposable pads- claiming those pads use less plastic than a traditional disposable diaper and are more convenient while traveling… But it’s still waste? They’re wrapped in plastic? It’s supposedly less waste but you’re still buying something to throw away when you’ve invested (quite a bit) in things you can reuse… it just seems counterproductive. Plus if you want to reduce waste why would you design a system that promotes it in how you handle sizing? All in all these are just disappointing. My kiddos have a rash now and I would not recommend.
