A great backpack and the perfect size

My daughter is three-years-old and on the small side. This backpack is a great size for her. Most of the backpacks I come across are either too small or too large, but these seem perfectly designed for preschoolers. Most preschool bags are too small but this seems like an actual preschool size. You can't fit a big folder in it (almost can!), but it holds quite a bit of stuff. We don't use it for school because she is home-schooled but we use it for going out and she likes to play with it at home too. It is very well made and durable. The straps are padded and she has never complained of discomfort. It has a carry handle, a side mesh pocket for drinks, and a name tag on the inside for writing your child's name. The snout part of the bag unzips and acts as a front compartment. Of course there is also the main, large compartment as well. The bag is easily wiped clean and it has held up very well since I bought it. It is not waterproof. The bag contains a lot of whimsical details. The zippers have cute clouds with rainbows as the zipper pull tabs, the snout is polka-dotted, the bag has button eyes, ears that stick up, and best of all, it has a cute little horn that juts from its head. The colors are lovely. The bag is a minty color with pastel pink ears, and a bright yellow snout with pink nostrils. The horn is silver with minty-colored stripes. I love that Skip Hop Zoo products come with matching items that you can buy separately. If you want your child to be entirely fashionable, you can also buy a matching lunch bag, matching food containers, matching drink bottle, matching umbrella, and matching raincoat (maybe even other things). The only downside to this bag is that the large snout makes it resemble a hippo more than a unicorn. My daughter wore her backpack to church and almost every single person thought it was either a hippo or even a rhino (you think the horn would have given it away) and only one person realized it was a unicorn without me having to tell them so. Either way, it's cute and got a lot of compliments. I still haven't come across a cuter backpack than this and I love how feminine and soft it looks. My daughter absolutely loves it and I'm so glad I bought it for her.

Cute and Spacious Backpack for Toddler

This back is very cute, my 2 year old loved it. It fits more than one would think. We used it as carryon for my toddler to put books, crayons, a kindle, a light sweater, and snacks and could fit it all (mind you all toddler size items). I would highly recommend this for travel or daycare/preschool.

It’s shaped like a unicorn and my preschooler loves it!

Just purchased this for my four year old who will start preschool in September. While I can’t exactly give an accurate review on durability I wanted to answer some questions that I had before ordering. The matching lunchbox does fit inside with a little room for maybe a pencil pouch or extra set of clothes but not much else (you can see how big it is next to the bookbag in the first picture). It does NOT fit a standard size folder (you can see the pink sparkly folder sticking up out of the bookbag in the first picture). It will fit a kids Nalgene water bottle or the stainless steel Thermos one (see third picture) but it does make it lean heavily to that side. I wouldn’t recommend this for a kindergartner because they usually need to take folders back and forth and I do worry about folding up my preschooler’s work inside this but it’s cute and shaped like a unicorn and it was a fair price. Perfect for a preschooler or maybe a kid taking clothes to daycare so I give it four stars. I’m just a little disappointed that it won’t fit a standard size folder without bending it a ridiculous amount.

Nice size and durable

Nice size to start with for my 1 year old. It’s a little big on her but I keep it light with 4 diapers, a small wipes pack, and a change of clothes for daycare. Glad I didn’t but the smaller size. Durable too! It’s a little early to tell about cleaning but I don’t think that will be too hard

Unicorn Lover!

We have bought this exact backpack (unicorn) and it's matching lunchbox, twice! First set as a gift for my daughter's BFF, and then of course, a set for her. We have a unicorn fanatic over here and this is such a cute backpack! I originally worried that it would be too big for my petite 3 year old, but it's actually a very good size for her. Agreed, it doesn't do well as a big-kid school backpack. I think it would be too small. Our preschool gives a 3-ring binder, which does not fit in this backpack. But it is fine for day-trips and traveling. It's rather boxy, so can fit a lot more than you'd think. W e use the insulated lunch box almost every day. Definitely a cute buy for a reasonable price. Skip Hop quality is pretty good! Sturdy, nicely sewn, details all done well. I'm sure we'll end up with another set when baby brother is old enough!

Good space for nursery

Perfect for nursery and its look good..will update it later that how it is after using for few months. Edit: after using it for 9 months without wash, still looks good but ofcourse, got little dirty and colour looks more light. But it's a nice quality bag and in my daughter's nursery, most of other kids also using skip hop bags but other animals so unicorn is not that common which i like.

Great quality, size and design for toddler

I have this unicorn design for my daughter and a dinosaur one for my son. They are great quality, durable and good size for toddlers. Currently I use them to put their spare clothes and nappies in them for nursery. They get thrown around a bit but still look in good shape so think the quality is brilliant.

Cute practical toddler rucksack

We haven't used this yet but it's exactly what I wanted. Perfect size for nappies baby wipes and room for other things as well. Perfect if you need a smaller changing bag for sending to the childminder or even a day out. Was surprised how much room was in it. Plus looks really cute!

Style over substance- way too small!

Although this looks great and I have the matching lunchbox and drinks bottle I am very disappointed that it is simply to small. When teachers ask you to change the school bag as normal sized books don’t fit in it says it all. Any normal sized book has to be folded to fit in. 3 weeks into school I had to replace it. Even my 6 year old daughter who chose it and loved it was happy to see the back of it.
