Be certain what you really need
While I believe that this is really great product, it unfortunately didn't quite meet needs. To be fair, I was trying to replace some weatherstripping on the vertical edge of my screen door - "sweep edge". My door being over 26 years old, didn't completely "snug up" with the edges of the weatherstripping. It would be completely unfair to say that this was a fault of the product. In this case, I was trying to "fill in" for a weatherstripping (due to its age) that is either no longer manufactured or, simply doesn't exist. Thus, my experience is extremely personal and should not be given too much weight in regard to this very specific situation. Adhesion within the track of the door has been tentative...PLEASE LET ME MENTION AGAIN, while hopeful of getting the OEM weatherstripping, I knew from the onset that this may not work. I consider it to be a stop-gap measure until I replace the door...SOON!

Huge improvement at little cost, but learn from my mistake
A couple of years ago I bought a beautiful home that was a bit of a fixer upper, not because it was run down, but because the previous owners had taken it upon themselves to add "improvements". One was cutting the bug seals away from the glass until they became useless. I never really gave it much thought, even though the house has spiders, until I saw a moth flutter in through a closed screen door. So I bought this for the upstairs. Holy smokes! I had no idea it would be so easy! If you are not sure if you should : a) buy this, b) call a handyman, or c) order a new screen, check your old stripping to see it if sits in a ridge in the screen and you can pry it out by wedging a screwdriver between the screen and the strip. If you can, skip the handyman. There is nothing simpler than this. But that's not to say foolproof. Here is my tale, which may explain some of the low reviews. I popped out the old one upstairs and put in the new one without cutting it. I simply pulled the old one out of the door, press the new one in to the slot, smoothed with my fingers until it was flat, then carefully trimmed off the excess length at the bottom. It worked like a dream! The black strip hung out more than I liked, so I figured I would order a new one for the downstairs and trim that one one notch. That was a mistake. I trimmed it one notch, which was super easy. I just cut along the line for one inch and then ripped it. Super simple. Then I installed it in the door. Oh dear. Cutting it was a mistake. You want too much and here is why. 1) These screen are never straight. While there is plenty at the top and bottom, in the middle, the edge I tore to fit is snug up against the glass. 2) When it is too snug against the glass and the frame, it sticks and bunches up when you open the door, causing the door to jam and the bug seal to pull right out of the track, unless you trim it away from the glass until bugs can get in, like the previous owners did... Trust me. You want that inch of flat black hanging over the glass and the frame. You will have no trouble if you leave it uncut. I've since replaced it and both work great. Oh, well. Lesson learned, for the price of a cup of coffee. Not bad considering the huge uptick in quality of life I am already experiencing.

It works!
As described, so easy to install. Used the entire width of it. Would probably be easy to cut down to width you need. Really does work to fill the screen & doorframe gap

Perfect replacement
I went to Home Depot with a sample. Since I bought the screen there it seemed the logical thing to do. Big mistake! They looked at me as I was asking for a moon rock and that I needed to buy a new screen. A very cursory search on Amazon and voilà! I have a seal

Does the job.
The weatherstripping that came with my sliding door wasn’t that great, so I opted for something more sturdy. This vinyl strip is easy to shorten and manipulate into place. However, it may take a bit of massaging to ensure it holds properly in place. Overall, I can’t complain. It does the job competently.

Great value for the money
The media could not be loaded. It comes in a small package rolled in a circle. Step 1: Open - unroll- measure the length of your patio sliding screen door- allow a little extra ( 1/4 inch) cut length with scissors. Step2: it’s approximately an inch “ wide” you wont need all that. ( the width has some lines on it) i took the extra piece of lenth and put in the door seal slot. Looked how much i needed to be against the door and marked it on my test piece. Then laid that against my long piece and notched how wide i needed it. Then i laid the whole piece out on my counter and used scissors to cut it. Since i had 2 to do, i did the next one ( using my test piece) rt then as well. Then installed both. One of the easiest and satisfying diy projects ive done in a while! Make sure you know how wide your seal slot is on the door before ordering your seal. Mine was about 1/4 inch.

Stopped the bugs from getting past my screen door
The seal for my screen doors had started to come apart after 12 years, so it was time to fix it. Surprisingly none of the local stores or Home Depot/Lowes had the correct size, so I order this. It was a perfect fit and stopped the bugs and other stuff from getting past and into the door jamb.

Used as a bug and mouse block at the edge of my screen door. Excellent product. Would order it again.
