It was unfortunate that the original inlet valve started leaking after about 19 years, and extremely maddening that the leak was so difficult to diagnose, but replacing this connector/valve solved the problem with very little work. Note that this device serves three roles: connect to city water, regulate pressure, and prevent backflow. The unit that I bought in 2022 regulated pressure at 65 PSI - although this is higher than the 55 PSI of the original unit installed by Safari/Monaco, I presume it's close enough and still safe for the PEX plumbing, especially since I rarely leave the city water connected.

Great looking flush mount water inlet, no so great outlet connection

Installing the unit was easy and stright forward in my tiny house, the issue came after I pressurized the system. The unit states it can take up to 125 psi and reduce it down to 55psi. I have a gravity feed 1" pipe that is more closer to 50-60psi, and as soon as I opened it up fully that plastic wing nut and pressure fitting failed right away. Having no other solution I found a 1/2" drop ear elbow fits the threads perfectly after wrapping them with tape sealent. So far the system is fully pressurized and not even a drip yet. Notice this solution does void the warrenty in a few ways and will probably put pressure on the connection with the PEX piped right to it possibly causing a failure when the house is moved. Hope this helps someone out there with the same problem.

Shurflo 183-029-18 Regulated City Water Entry is How Much?

Well if you have an Avondale caravan then this is a part you will need, maybe, I was unfortunate enough to be someone who did need a replacement and found that the only place I could obtain one was the USA or Canada, silly isn't it? This part has done the job and like the original is well made and once fitted should outlast the rest of the van. The only down side is where you have to get it from, as the postage makes it quite an expensive part.
