I Love These
I'm 67 y/o women who does her own basic plumbing and I have put these on the toilet and faucet lines of both my bathrooms. I will eventually put them on my kitchen faucet lines as well. Just a note: I have polybutylene piping through out my house (not great but didn't know when I bought it). Snake bite shutoffs will not include these pipe types as okay to use on. I believe this is because they don't make them anymore and banned them from being used in houses in the mid 90's. They worked fine on all mine.

Old faucet soldered to pipes
The old owners soldered the faucet to the pipes. I cut them off, installed the Snakebites and then the faucet in about an hour. Saved myself a few hundred in plumber costs. A feel confident I can now replace other valves that have corroded in the house

Easy!
It took longer to remove the contents from under the cabinet than it did to cut/clean and install the valves!

It seems that it would be pretty hard to make these leak on their slip fitting (push-fit) even if you were trying. As usual the compression fitting leaked at first which is just a reality of installing compression fittings and with continued diligence the leaked was stopped. It's worth noting that water can get trapped in the fitting between the ferrule and the nut. This will give the false perception that its still leaking and keep tightening it. I would just tighten it and then wait an hour to check for leaks. Finally like many of these fittings this has the infamous Prop 65 warning. Just to confuse things lead stabilized PVC can be considered "lead-free" in some cases which is what bothered me at first. I'm not to alarmed by this but for the sake of thoroughness I wanted to see what this could indicate. Giving Sharkbite the benefit of the doubt NSF-61 indicates less than 0.25 percent lead and in drinking water applications an extremely low leachate. Getting NSF-14 which just falls back to NSF-61 indicates "lead-free" which means it has less than 0.25 percent lead. There is also no particular reason they'd need to use any lead in this product but who knows. Sulfuric acid which is generally used in processing before application of chromium is also considered under Prop 65 so that could explain the warning. But I've seen this warning on plain brass products as well and on ones that are not shiny which is what sulfuric acid does. So its likely something else as well. Lastly there may be chemicals that fall under Prop 65 in the plastic couplings however this would not be exposed to the water so it really poses no risk there except that Prop 65 applies anyway. My main concern is lead and it would be nice to have approvals based on the complete absence of and or use of lead in manufacturing. In any case I'm quite impressed with this valve.

So easy to use, can't beat the convience and simplicity!
We had a water leak at a T in our manufactured home and it was on the old PB plastic piping. Since that is piping discontinued and I have no crimping tools anyway I researched the Sharkbite fittings due to their claim that you need no tools, just measure the depth and slide them on. I was a bit skeptical at first but I was in a bind so purchased two PB to Pex fittings, a Pex T and an Pex Shut off. I watched a youtube video before attempting the repairs just to get an idea what I needed to do. Cutting out the old pipe T, then installing the two PB to Pex fittings with a section between that included the new Pex T, and then the new shut from the T took me 15 minutes. I popped on the water and no leaks, worked perfectly. These things are the real deal and will save you a ton of time and hassle! I can sweat copper pipe as well but for future repairs I may just use these fittings, no sense in wasting my time when I can measure, cut, push to install and then you're done.

great if you can't solder a pipe
I had a shut off valve that was stuck in the partly closed (or open if you perfer) position, it was old and needed to be replaced as the volume of water coming out of the kitchen faucet was not very much. I was unable to heat the pipe up to break the solder and would not have enough room to solder anything else on so I ended up cutting the pipe just below the old shut off and using this push valve. No leaks, no solder, no problems and now I have great water pressure. All in all I am please with the ease of use and the quality of this product.
