Surprisingly easy to install

My outside faucet snapped last fall. I turned off the water to address the problem this spring. Spring came, and I just didn't want to spend $350 to $500 to have a plumber come and install a new faucet. I discovered Shark Bite as a solution on youtube. I purchased the faucet, followed the instructions, and for less than $50 I have a new workable faucet in my backyard. No leaks....works great, and I congratulate myself for becoming a "handyman", which I'm not.

It works great. Simple

Couldn't have asked for an easier install for my shed. I get more than adequate pressure for my power washer to clean a large patio. Very satisfied. No leaks, pex throughout install.

Difficult to insulate behind the flange, I had to spray foam behind the flange to avoid it freezing in harsh weather. It should come with a insulative washer. Otherwise easy to install.

Convenient, no soldering needed, just snap in

What a great product! The true genius of this product is that it works with PEX or copper pipes without soldering. Just press it in and you are done. Anyone who has soldered pipes before knows what a pain it is to solder when there is a little bit of water left in the pipe. The water has to evaporate first before it can heat up to a temperature warm enough to melt solder. Also, when working within tight confines of a wall, it is very difficult to maneuver the flame and a heat shield so that even heat can be applied to the solder joint. Well, that is a thing of the past with Sharkbite. Why didn't I see this before? To replace my faucett, I cut the old pipe off using a pipe cutter and lightly cleaned up the pipe to remove any sharpness from the cut edge. This is extremely important because if sharp edges are left on the pipe end, it can destroy the O ring that is the only thing that is sealing the water. The shark teeth only hold the pipe in place so that it does not come off, it does not seal. Having said that, the actual installation was anticlimactic once the pipe was prepared. I simply pressed the pipe in and caulked the faucet where it touched the outside wall. And I was done. If I had to solder, it would have been a major operation.

Easy to Install But Needs a Solid Mount

Easy to install and use. The faucet I replaced had been soldered to the copper pipe and was very firm. Although it never leaked, this one would/could swivel on the pipe if turned firmly so I put an extra wood backing and attached it firmly to the wall with screws. Is working great now.

Great for small jobs and do-it-yourselfers

The shark bites are always excellent. Quick and easy, no solder required, no need for a dry pipe. Just clean the end of the pipe and slip-on.

Perfect fit, fast and easy install !

Replaced a 30 year old faucet on copper. For those wondering, the pipe entry is flush with the base so you can use that base to measure the 1” pipe length that will be inserted. Worked on first try (copper tube was carefully prepped) which is good because I can’t see how the release clip could be inserted if removal was needed (release clip can be ordered from Sharkbite)
