Very good set but two very, very minor issues on mine
I really like this set and I am 99% happy with it. All the pieces work well together and avoid a more complicated set up for my cold brewing coffee use. I highly recommend it for making cold brew coffee or similar uses. I'm using the funnel/filter set to transfer and filter coarse ground coffee for cold brew. This set up for my application does a very good job of filtering the coffee, although I add one additional final step of filtering the results of this filtration through a 300 mesh fabric mesh fabric (400 mesh might be even better). For my coffee brew, I simply fill one 64oz mason jar with a measured amount of water that I like for the weighed amount of coarse, to very coarse, ground coffee that I use (just pour the coffee in the water, shake and let sit). I let this sit on the counter for 12hrs, or so. Then I use a Pour and Store lid on the 64oz Mason jar to pour this coffee sludge into another 64oz Mason jar that I have attached the Chef's Planet #130 Multipurpose Filter Funnel Set to (minus the red nozzle funnel attachment not needed for my coffee brew application). The large gray funnel screws very securely to my receiving end 64oz mason jar. I then place the included bronze colored screen filter (similar metal mesh filters used in drip coffee machines) inside that screw-on gray funnel and then I place the white colandar (has much large holes than bronze colored screen) inside that bronze colored screen filter. All the pieces in the set all have tabs that loosely interlock so they don't move when I've poured the cold brew coffee sludge through them for filtering. So, the very coarse coffee grounds are caught by the white colandar and the smaller coffee grounds are caught by the bronze colored screen. I then rinse the original 64oz Mason jar and the filter set. I screw the large gray funnel onto the freshly rinsed 64oz Mason jar and put a 300/400 mesh fabric filter inside the funnel. I then use the Pour and Store lid on the 64oz Mason jar that now contains the first round filtered coffee and pour that jar's liquid through the 300/400 mesh fabric filter to remove the super-fines. This eliminates virtually all of the sediment, although some may still settle in the bottom over a few days of sitting (could use an 600 or 800 mesh filter but the sediment is really nothing). Lastly, the red nozzle attachment fits very securely to the gray funnel and works well for filling smaller mouth vessels, without leaks in the uses that I've have used it for. I just don't need it for the cold brew coffee steps. The minor issues that I found with the set as delivered are two: First, there is a pair of machine cut slots in the gray filter where it screws onto the mason jar. I believe these are for air to be released as funnel is threaded onto the jar. I'm guessing that without the slots, it would create a suction and make unscrewing the two parts from each other very difficult (just my guess). My issue is that one of the two cuts on my unit is very rough and I've had to trim some plastic shards from the cut. I think this is because that cut goes through one of the angled lid threads and the other cut is above all the threads. I thought about exchanging it but I suspect all the sets may be like this since all the cuts are likely in the same place on all the funnels. I just cleaned it up a little with an Exacto knife. IMPORTANT NOTE: neither of these 'air' slots leak when doing a filter because they are situated at the very tops of the treads used for screwing the funnel to the jar and the treading of the funnel to the jar is very tight and secure. Second, there is a metallic blueish spot (#2 eraser head size) on the bronze filter mesh in my set, as if the bronzing missed a spot due to some impurity on the surface of the screen. My concern is that if it is a non-bronzed section of the screening, will it rust in the future. So far, I have not noticed any rust or deterioration at the spot and I've washed the screen a few times (spot is still there after the washings, though). Coupled with the slot cut issue above, I thought about exchanging but I'm expecting, and hoping, that these issues are really non-issues in the long run. So, the two issues in my particular set, were minor and not worth doing an exchange over (at least at this point).

Perfect!
Use it to strain frying oil. It accommodates multiple size containers and has two different straining sizes.

Well worth it
When I was shopping for a filter/funnel - I planned to spend less. I picked this one because it looks good. When I got I was surprised at how sturdy and well made. This is far better than all the other filter/funnels I looked at. It is so sturdy and functional that it should last a lifetime. The extra filter surface area lets the oil pass quickly. I also like that it does not require paper filters. Well worth the investment.

Fish oil strainer funnel
I use this to strain my peanut oil after a fish fry, works great getting all the cornmeal out so you can reuse the oil a couple of times. Thanks Erik

Great for oil and canning and lots of other things...
I bought this for the oil strainer function and it does that exceptionally well. We use the fryers a couple times a week and strain about two gallons every use. This strainer does a much better job of catching debris than typical kitchen strainers and therefor extending the oil's usable life. The attached small funnel is particularly helpful for this function as it allows returning the oil to the container it came in. We are now getting two extra weeks (six total) from our fryer oil than we were getting and sometimes a touch more. The upper gray funnel is threaded to standard wide-mouth canning jar size. Compared to a typical canning funnel, this one has double the capacity and feeding opening. It's particularly useful for packing jars with larger foods like whole stewed tomato, whole pickles, peaches, apples, etc. without crushing them going in. Since it screws onto the jar it remains very stable. The small red detachable funnel is sized perfectly to fill bottles (such as 2-liter soda bottles) as well as the plastic jug cooking oil comes in. The strainers (coarse and extra fine) fit into the assembly very well and stay put while straining oil. The extra fine strainer is also good for straining infused vinegar and oils. Perfect for making my now famous Mulled Blackberry Vinegar and my Very Hot Thai Chili Oil without leaving any particles in my final jar. The price appears a touch steep but the quality and functionality are worth it. Our savings in cooking oil over just a couple months makes it worth the cost. Peanut oil ain't cheap. Our opinion is "five stars plus" for what it is and all of the other things it can be. Very nice unitasker turned multitasker.

WOW great filter
The filter cleans the grease used in our deep fat fry great. The permanent filters are easy to clean. It takes about 10 minutes to filter (room temperature) grease and clean the parts of the filter. I let then pieces dry (after washing) and put the pieces back in the box it came in. Our grease has NO residue from the food in it. I would recommend this filtering system.

The perfect way to strain your oil - but you need a Mason jar, too!
Attached to a half-gallon Mason jar, this strainer is perfect for "cleaning" your cooking oil for storage and reuse. One caution if you're attaching the red funnel to put oil into a 1 gallon plastic bottle: DON'T TRY TO USE IT ON A PLASTIC BOTTLE SMALLER THAN 1 GALLON! I tried to use it to strain the oil into a 1.5 Qt bottle, but I needed a third hand to steady the bottle/strainer combo. I spent quite a while cleaning up all the oil that spilled. I don't ding the product for this, because they clearly say, "Red vented funnel adaptor fits 1 gallon+ storage containers." It fits smaller containers, too, but it's not a stable setup. All that being said, I'm so glad I found this strainer/funnel. I can't imagine a way to improve it!

Quality and fast delivery.
A bit smaller than I reckoned from the pictures. Appears to be well built and should do the job. I haven’t used it yet. I thought it was a bit over priced.

Wonderful product..
I just love this funnel / sieve. Used to take forever straining grease and having to scrape and slop all over. This makes it so easy and fast.
