A great value

I'm on a budget, so the higher end products are not in the cards for me. I found these and decided to give them a try. Some care needs to be taken: as another reviewer pointed out, they aren't as good when bringing the stop collar for the countersink up around the flutes, but I've had good success aligning them carefully onto the bit instead of into the grooves and have had no issues. The bits are sturdy, sharp, and have given me no problems on pine or oak. They have their quirks about them, typical of their price range, but they work about as well as the higher-end ones I've tried in the store--once the learning curve has been achieved. My set went missing for a bit, so I bought a cheaper version that wasn't worth anything, so I was quite relieved when this set resurfaced. Overall, these are a good value that, with some time spent practicing and a little bit of using your head, are worth more than their price, but aren't quite in the league of their professional-grade counterparts.

You get what you pay for.

Works well for the price. A bit fragile, but might have been due to my negligence. One bit broke in the middle of a project, but otherwise a decent product.

Steelex D1041

Good bits and the countersink with depth stop works great. In the middle of a project I had the countersink/depth stop loosen- that's when I found the set screws in the countersink and the depth stop are a special size and only work with the one allen wrench that comes with the bits - which is a bad thing considering I own hundreds of allen wrenches. Luckily I was able to find a standard size set screw at a local hardware store and replaced all of them. Have not had any other problems and am working with furniture grade laminated plywood, drilling 2.5" to 3.0" deep holes. A tapered bit is a great item and allows a lot of flexibility and faster assembly.

Great tool(s) though they need a box/container as there are several small parts that can disappear quickly if not properly contained - especially a small hex wrench and the adjustable collars.

They work, mostly...

Be careful where you tighten the stops, they can (and will) slip if not dead on. These are not usable in the field, but are fine on a drill press (we broke the #5 bit after about 6 holes in a hand drill). Be aware, that these are also VERY aggressive bits and will pull you drill in if you're not careful. I'll probably replace these with something else when needed.

Disappointed

I purchased this set because the idea of a countersink, with a correctly sized tapered pilot hole in one step seems like a time saver. The set delivers on these points as long as you don't need to move the countersink towards the tip to accommodate a shorter screw. The set screws that hold the countersink in place have very little to take purchase on when it is moved onto the flutes of the drill bit. Thus, the countersink has both slipped and wobbled. This set will go in the trash when I receive the 3pc Pro Countersink Set from Rockler. This system uses a much longer sleeve between the countersink and the drill bit allowing you to move the drill within the sleeve and having adequate purchase for the set screws of the countersink.

Buenas herramientas

Buen material de los avellanadores con diferentes ajustes para profundidad de la broca y profundidad para el tapón de madera, el problema para mi es que la broca está muy gruesa y si la broca entra demasiado el tornillo queda flojo y no sujeta esto sucede con tornillos del número 8 con tornillos de mayor calibre no hay tanto problema.

Sizes are way off

The smallest of these bits, labelled for a #5 screw, is 1/8". The next size up is 9/64" which is about the same size around as a #11 screw so it is no good for even that. Then we get 5/32", 11/64", 3/16", 13/64", and an astounding 7/32" (about the same size as a #20 screw, so it is too large for that let alone a #12). Unless I am missing something completely, none of these sizes are typical when using non-tapered bits and are way too large.

I just got mine. Haven't used them yet, but annoyed that the package looked opened and was missing the allen key. Don't know if it was removed from the package, or damaged in transport and fell out. Other than that, they look pretty good. I'll try to update when I've used them. They do reek of oil, but that's not a big concern.
