Just Good Basic Files That Do The Job
About 25 years ago I had purchased a simple set of files from Sears. They were basic files; triangular, half-round, rasp and flat. They had no handles, i.e., they were sold with a bare tang, and somewhere along the line I carved some crude wooden handles for them. The other day I was rooting around in my toolbox for some tool and ran across them. I thought to myself "Dang, these are pretty old, rusty, and the handles have fallen off...time for some decent files." I wanted a set that wasn't crazy expensive, had all of the basic shapes, and had some decent handles. I work with various metals and woods for my hobbies, so I needed a basic file set as well as a rasp file set. It would be nice if they all matched, too. I did a lot of research on Amazon, only to find that some file sets did not have all of the shapes, were exorbitantly expensive, had handles that came off in your hand (or didn't have handles to start with), or had generally poor reviews. I came across the Woodstock files and they seemed to fill the bill. I purchased both the Woodstock D3112 6-Piece File Set with Rubber Handles and the Woodstock D3113 3-Piece Wood Rasp Set with Rubber Handles at the same time. The files arrived two days after purchase. They were well-packed and packaged. I inspected all of the files; all appeared to be in perfect condition with no wear or tear, not any shipping damage. The standard file set includes Round, Square, Triangular, Flat, Half-Round, and Tapered files. The Rasp file set includes Round, Half-Round and Flat rasps. The rubber handles are very comfortable and feel good in the hand. You can get a nice grip and maintain very good control over the file. The balance of each file is good. Some folks have mentioned that the handles came off when they were used, but I have yet to experience that in the four months that I have used them on an every-other-day basis. The metal of the files appears to be cast steel and is of average to good quality; they should last a long time as long as you don't stand on them or use them as a pry bar. Each of the non-rasp files are double-cut to about bastard cut or second-cut depth. The rasp files have teeth that are cut fairly deep, and some appear to be haphazardly placed. Mind you that's not really a bad thing, as all you care about is that it quickly removes material in the area that you are filing. You can smooth out any imperfections with a finer file, then some gentle sanding. I use all of these files primarily for woodworking and so far they have performed their tasks quite well with no visible wear. They do not clog easily, and when they do a brass wire brush makes quick work of any clogs. All-in-all I am quite pleased with both sets of Woodstock files and would recommend them. Thanks Woodstock!

Great cheap set of files
These files are exactly what I needed to get started with sharpening scrapers for my woodworking projects. I have also had several instances where files would be useful for taking off sharp edges on metal edges on my gym equipment and other furnishings. These are a big set of rugged files that can be used for a long time. The only thing you should be aware of when buying these files is that they are pretty long. So if you are wanting to do more delicate work or work on a smaller piece you may want to consider getting a physically smaller set. Dimensions of each file can be found in the photos I have attached. Pros: *Inexpensive *Durable Cons: *None Additional Considerations: Make sure you get files based on what material you are looking to file down. Some files are harder than others and work better on different materials Overall: 5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, 5 stars If you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Decent files
Comfortable to hold and use. Package well. Only have a small amount of usage with these so far, but what I have, they seem pretty decent.

Good Files, Great Value - Highly Recommeded
This Woodstock File Set is much better quality than expected for a "value" priced collection of tools. We needed a "starter" set of files to use while setting up our workshop, but these are good enough for all of the tasks we had in mind so likely will not have to invest in better ones anytime soon. The six files are well made and should hold up well over time, and the grips are reasonably comfortable in my largish hands. The larger files worked great on the wood projects and I needed to use the small triangular file on a soft steel mounting plate, with great results. Overall, I am very pleased with this set in both functionality and value. Highly Recommended! CFH

Easy to use files.
Good rasps or files (not sure what the difference is) with great handles. The blister pack was hard to open so I carefully cut off the plastic at the handle end so the packaging could be used for storage that would keep the files from touching each other which I think did some damage to my old set of files. The handles are great and I don't have to put up with jamming the old files into wood handles. Would like a few more files with more aggressive cutting surfaces.

Ok for double cut files...
Really they are good files for what they are but I was hoping to get single cut and they all are double cut. They don't state whether they were double or single cut but I wouldn't have purchased them if I knew they were double cut. I am rating them 3 stars for not stating the important part while gushing over the handles being super comfortable. The working part is the cutting part and the handles on a file should be replaceable if you got to have super comfortable handles.

Good file set for the money
I must say, these files are better quality than I expected them to be for the money spent! They have a great feel in your hand as far as the grip is concerned, which is half the drag of filing something. I told myself that I would never do the no handle file thing again, and the palms of my hands thank me already. I personally don't get excited about files as far as some tools that create excitement, but when you need a decent file you need one. These have been better than I expected and I don't think they can be beat for the $$! Happy filing, T. Travis Highlands Ranch Colorado

Nice set of files for a great price.
Nice set of files though not quite what I had hoped for, which was something a coarser filing surface. The handles seem to be well attached and comfortable.

Garbage. Handle broke off while removing from the package
Garbage. Handle broke off while removing from the package. The only reason to buy these is so you can get practice with the return process.
