Beginner pattern with easy-to-follow steps
I made two of these in size 8 over the weekend. I believe each dress took less than 4 hours. The hardest part for me was the arm-holes and the drawstring ribbon. I did a little modifying to the ribbon. One the blue dress I tacked the ribbon in the middle so that it couldn't pull out, however I believe I cut the ribbon just a little too short. It will work, but It would have been a better outcome with longer ribbon. I had measured the ribbon as one and a half times the length of the top, and on the blue I don't feel it was sufficient. Also, tacking it in the middle means you have to scrunch the top. It's okay, and it works, but I wasn't 100% satisfied. On the pink dress my husband came up with tacking one ribbon at the left side and running it out to the opposite end. We did the same on the right. So, there are two ribbons going through it to opposing ends, each fully tacked at the opposing end. Doing this allows it to draw and scrunch really nicely. One both the pink and the blue dress I deviated from the pattern and sewed my ribbons into the dress rather than waiting and trying to tuck it through the small hole after. I know it can be done. I just preferred to do it another way. The down side to this dress is that it isn't easy for a child to put on by themselves. Someone will have to tie the shoulders for the child. My daughter is 6, and she is unable to tie the shoulders. I can also imagine her going to kindergarten, a bow coming undone, and the entire front of her dress falling open. UGH. I thought I'd take a very small rubber band and attach it to the bow base after it's tied to prevent that kind of accident. Due to the issues with putting this one on by oneself I don't really recommend it for self-dressers or school agers, but that was an after-thought. I'd already made two before I realized there might be a little problem with that.

Not as easy as it looks
This pattern looked so easy, IT WAS NOT. There was no mention of the need for bias tape on the envelope or in the pages inside. Not until you started sewing did you get to the step asking for bias tape. I made 2 dresses from this pattern. I won't use it again.

Children's patterns
Since being home all the time, I started sewing to keep me busy. I only enjoy making children's clothes so I needed a few newer patterns. I made this and absolutly love it. I will be using this again. It is easy and comes together quickly.

Easy to use
I wish I knew how to sew but I do not. My mother does so I bought this pattern and had it mailed to her so she could make my little girl some dresses. She had to alter the pattern sizes since my daughter is only four months old. I tried to attach a picture to this review since my mother did such an awesome job. These patterns are easy to read and use. They make the most beautiful little outfits. I am so excited that i found this pattern for summer.

Great pattern for such a nice dress.
Very easy to make. the dress is just a few pieces I put a ruffle on the bottom hemline for my dress I have not made the other pieces yet. Once you cut this pattern and the material out maybe about 45 minutes to sew it . Simplicity did make this pattern sooo easy. I would even recommend this to a person learning how to sew, just that easy.
