Regency Blue is a much darker blue color
I had debated whether to get a "dresdan" color of blue (more of a baby blue color) but chose this one based on what the picture showed of the color. Much, much darker than what I expected, but a very strong, heavy built toilet seat. This color gives my toilet "Character".

It's pretty and well made but it's still COLD!
We deliberately selected a wood seat with the idea that it wouldn't be as cold in winter (in a marginally heated bathroom) as the non-wood ones. Such is not the case in this instance. It be COLD. However, it was as easy to install as the directions suggest and it looks very nice if you actually care how your toilet seat looks. One other note. The directions say it should be cleaned only with mild soap and water so the finish doesn't get marred. Um, are they not familiar with sanitation?? You're dealing with one of the potentially germiest (is that a word?) places in the average home; no way I'm only using soap & water to clean it, finish be damned! If I remember, I'll update this review in the future to let you know how a natural cleaning product affects the seat over time. Edit 3/13: I've been usingClorox Green Works Natural All Purpose Cleaner 32oz and haven't seen any ill-effects on the toilet seat finish. HOWEVER, there are a number of small nicks on the lid from accidentally dropping things (I'm guessing). If you are very careful and never drop anything in the bathroom, you should be fine, but me, I need a toilet seat/lid that can stand up to a little abuse. Still we got this pretty cheap so I can't speak that ill of it.

Fits and matches my old American Standard Blue!
Our original toilet seat by American Standard lasted over 30 years. Then it finally broke and replaced with ones bought at a local hardware store. that one only lasted few years before the paint started to crack and peel and finally breaking in half. So we were quickly back in the market looking for a blue toilet seat... Blue porcelin color for the toilet installed in the '60's is very hard to match. Couldn't find any blue toilet seat at our local hardware stores. I found this Comfort Seat in Regency Blue on Amazon and took a chance and bought it. It was a perfect color match to our blue toilet made by American Standard! The seat is very comfortable with smooth and wide seats. no pressure points felt when sitting. paint quality very high--smooth and glossy. I hope this seat lasts as long as the original one did. The finish and the quality and workmanship was so nice, we decided to replace our other toilet seat where the paint is chipping and cracking (very poor paint job, same as the blue one that broke. unfortunately don't know the name of the company that made that seat). Hopefully the Comfort Seat toilet seat we just ordered color matches too (Fawn Beige, or Almond.. not sure which, so I made a wild guess). Even if it is tad off, the quality and workmanship o the Comfort Seat will make our toilet look orders of magnitude better than the way it is now, and more comfortable too! Highly recommended.

Good Color Match for 1964 American Standard
The Regency Blue Jones Stephens toilet bowl cover is a good color match for my 1964 American Standard blue toilet. It is not the exact same shade of blue but very close and its shape compliments the shape of the toilet bowl and tank. Suspect it is a copy of the toilet bowl cover that originally shipped with the toilet. The toilet bowl cover appears to be well made and installation is straightforward but the instructions could be a little bit more helpful. My biggest complaint is the attachment hardware that comes with the cover is contained in a separate plastic bag that is stapled to the bottom flap of the display box. If you open the display box from the top it is not obvious that the hardware is even in the box. It would make more sense to put the hardware inside of the shrink wrap that covers the toilet bowl cover inside the display box. One other observation, even though Jones Stephens lists themselves as being based in Moody, Al, the cover (as with many things these days) is manufactured in China.

The color is NOT as shown.
So why five stars? Well, it didn't seem fair to rate it otherwise. The seat itself I'm sure is fine, judging by the one I replaced it with from the same company. But the color in my view is not what it should be , unless that's what you're trying to match if you happen to have this color in your bathroom. I realize digital photographs on the internet are not necessarily accurate, but there is NO WAY this picture can be any conceivable representation of the color. It's not close at all. I made the mistake of ordering without reading all the reviews. The package was previously opened, apparently, and someone else made the same mistake I had. Rachel Hurley has a review with a photo that is more accurate, and trust me even that photo doesn't do the color "justice." Had to return, and ordered the Dresden Blue which is perfect. I must add that Amazon was great, as always, regarding processing the return.

Perfect toilet seat; well worth the price
I always thought one toilet seat was just like another--boy, was I wrong! After trying several cheaper seats that would not stay attached to either the toilet or to their two parts, I finally gave up and decided to try this seat. What a difference! First, it is more comfortable than any of the other seats--important when physical issues require more time on the toilet than you might like. Also, it was easy to install and so far seems secure. Third, it is definitely well made. The cheaper seats had lid hinges that slipped together in the back, but would not stay in place. With this seat, the hinges permanently attach the lid to the seat. My only issue--and a slight one--is with the color which is darker than I expected (even allowing for screen color differences) and darker than the blue in my bathroom. The color swatch on the packaging box matched my blue perfectly, but also was not the color of the seat itself. This is only a very minor point, but one that might matter to someone else. I'd rather have the darker blue seat that is everything else I want in a toilet seat than a seat that matches perfectly, but needs frequent replacing. Thank you, Amazon, for once again offering just the right product.
