Not for big guys

Not made for fat butts or guys guilty of man-spreading. The foot rest has to be screwed into place and removed to fold. not great.

Foot rest quickly broke

4 star quality except for the footrest which broke within a week or two. Otherwise a good chair but not the best quality.

Wow! Great quality.

This exceeded my expectations. The chair was very sturdy and hardly any assembly (just unfolding and sliding on the seat and back). Well worth the money.

This chair has not been put together or sat in yet, so this is not a full review. In case you are buying this as a gift....Please Note: There is a picture of the directors chair & the words directors chair written all over the box. Our youngest child asked for a directors chair for Christmas & the surprise of this Christmas morning gift has already been revealed. :( 12/8/22

Inexpensive but decent looking

Reasonably comfortable director's chair. My main complaint is the footrest... it is fussy to put on, and badly engineered so likely to snap off after a few uses.

Nice chair.

Some assembly is required, namely sliding the edges of the fabric seat into the grooves in the frame. It took less than a minute to put together, and included instructions if you need them. It has some nice touches: Sturdy brass-ish hardware, non-marking feet to protect the floor, smooth even finish, relatively lightweight wood. The seat is 18" from the floor, and gives you a 17" wide by 13" deep sitting area. The outside dimensions of the chair are 22" wide x 16" deep x 34" tall at the highest part of the back. Armrests are about 25" off the floor, aka 7" up from the seat. When all folded up, it measures 8.5" wide by 16" deep by 26" high. The only flimsiness I've noticed is that the wooden pieces supporting the back bend inward slightly when I lean back against the backrest, which is to be expected of any director-style chair. I weigh 125lbs and it doesn't move at all when I sit down on it. I imagine, though, that the wooden bars at the base of each armrest might not be comfortable for someone who takes up more than 17" of horizontal space when sitting. The seat looks really wide because of how the chair is proportioned, but actually I have less than 1" of room either side of me when sitting in it and I'm not exactly a large person. The points which I'd expect to wear out first are the seams of the seat and back (they're sewn with unusually long stitches and little reinforcement) and the arm rests (there's a tiny gap visible where each wooden piece fits into the others and I'm not sure how well they're glued).

Very classically retro.

Very elegant retro directors chair. Reasonably well built. The canvas is separate and can be swapped with other colors. Two minor flaws, the seat canvas grooves are a bit rough, which may hinder a easy insertion of the canvas and initially thought the canvas is too small, which hinders unfolding the chair entirely. The later is half intentionall, since the canvas will stretch. After a few days it works as desired.

The slide in cover is short in length...

The Seat cover is few centimeters' short to accommodate the extension required. Unable to press down front and rear leg's hinges to lock position as per diagram 3 in the Assembly instruction sheet. Also we cannot attach the foot rest into the position as per diagram 4 . The manufacturer/supplier needs to send a replacement seat cover with slightly longer length.

Not stable enough.

It is a very lightweight chair, and not stable enough. Each time you sit on it, it will collapse as the locking system is not working properly. The footrest is not strong enough and you feel it will break anytime now. Ideal for someone who needs a very lightweight and portable makeup/director chair. If that's your priority then it is a good option.
