Document clarification
I like the chair quite a bit, but there were a couple items that are a little unclear in the instructions to put it together (which all in was were very easy to do) 1) the handle opening for the backrest should be at the top when installed. The main picture shows it this way but some user pictures have been submitted short at the bottom for some reason, it doesn't make any difference in the use of the chair but it should be up! The instructions don't specify the correct installation 2) the second item that is not clarified in the instructions is which is the front of the seat. My assumption is that the two little divots are for the legs and should be at the front of the seat when put together. The main picture on this item doesn't even show the seat that is supplied with the two little divots, some users supplied pictures that show them in the back when put together, but my assumption is they are where your legs rest and should be to the front of the seat when you've installed everything Putting the seat together was quite easy and I was able to do it a week after I got home from rehab for a fractured fibula, so I am very immobile at the moment but had no problems putting it together

Worked great for me but……
This chair was perfect for me. I had my hip replaced so needed it while I recovered. It was easy to put together and it adjusted to a nice height for me (I’m 5”10). However, I am a fairly strong woman with good balance. The light weight of the chair, while nice to lift in and out of the tub, may prove to be a problem for others who may need something more secure. I thought about giving it to my 96 year father when I was finished but the chair can tip easily if you lean on it with one hand. I had concerns that if he was a little off balance when trying to sit down, and leaned on one arm more than the other, he could topple over. I felt that it would not be a safe option for him.

Water in seat
I bought this for my 90 year old mother after her surgery. This is a great seat. However, after using it for only 2 weeks, and no longer needing it, I took it out of the shower to clean it - and the seat had water in it. No way to get the water out. My husband had to drill a small hole in the bottom of the seat so the water could get out. On examination, there was a small crack on the side by one of the screw holes. Is there a way to replace the seat?

Easy to assemble, no tools required, a bit wobbly. Light, Strong but not w/o flaws. See Review
This review will help instruct those who may have concerns about its assembly. I'll provide tips, safety concerns, and my overall opinion of the "Guardian" model Bath Bench with Back and Arms (made by Medline). Plus advice on purchasing a bath Bench at the end of the review. Assembly is Quick and Simple (though the assembly instructions should be better detailed). The nut screws are all "hand twist knobs" so they're safe to put together. No tools are required. Warning: The Bolts are not all the same size. [Remember... Match the "A" portion of the leg to the "A" portion on the seat. Same with the "B" Portion of The leg, to the B on the seat. Use the correct size bolt (All knob nuts fit all the bolts provided). [Careful not to misplace/lose a curved little black metal piece ("nickel size") with a hole in the middle.] The legs cross in an "X" manner and that small piece (I mentioned) will structurally make the bench stronger.] Upon completing your assembly you'll notice the legs are not 100% flush/flat to the ground (though not by much... Not a big issue). The arm assistance bars (on the sides) appear a bit weak and shaky. These (arm) bars are held together by a THIN circular aluminum composite, at the sides. My fear is they could possibly break off over time; Especially if you apply a lot of weight or pressure when using. Nonetheless, the bench/chair is lite, adjustable, and strong with the exception of the side arm bars though my opinion is mostly "speculative" (over time)... I researched the prices of other Bath Benches (with their amenities) along with all personal reviews from other customers; Compared them side by side with this chair and came to my final conclusion; This Chair beats them all. The "Medline" company is well known and used highly in hospitals. The price, overall quality, and positive reviews by others make this bath bench "a Great Value Choice". My review may appear a bit long and worrisome but the positives outway the negatives. It's no "Tesla/Royal Royse" as far as chairs go, but it's a pretty safe place to relax your butt on. Isn't that what we all want? I'm pretty sure the bench comes with a warranty as well (though I never bother with those). For those purchasing a Bath Bench for the first time... If you have a small tub, a curved, small, or narrow bath floor; I suggest getting a thinner bench. Possibly one with no sidebars (based on their width) and definitely without any backrest. The price is cheaper but more importantly, you'll need better ground support, for your safety. A bench placed sideways with a backrest would make it nearly impossible to sit and bathe properly. If your Bath floor is not a problem, this chair is practically Ideal.

Good chair
It is sturdy, easy to put together. Previously, I bought a shower stool that slipped under me one day, even though it was on my mat. I think it should’ve had rubber and not plastic on the bottom. I was hurt, and I also had trouble getting up. This is great it stays put. I feel very secure in it. I do not need it like I did but it’s nice to sit on to lean forward to do my hair. I highly recommend this one.

It works
We used this to help with my wife’s recovery from total hip replacement surgery. We never actually used it in the shower, but we used it for her sponge baths in the kitchen until the recovered her stitches. We also used it for her physical therapy since the height is adjustable.

Great chair!
I had foot surgery and needed a shower chair while I recovered. I have to be honest and say I bought this not expecting much since it was fairly inexpensive. Well I have been so happy with this chair. It is sturdy, very adjustable and just the perfect aid for me while I cannot stand on my foot. I highly recommend this chair!

A must own for showers without safety handles to catch onto
This product is fairly priced, particularly for anyone needing handles or a seat in the shower A warning though: it is constructed for anyone only small as a child, so to use regularly I also bought rubber or foam seat cushions used for wheel chairs Another way to get height is with a donut seat for the commode, because shower water won't stand and the seat dries Adding height will be a big deal with an adult so once bought practice with the seat to see how you will get needed height
