Fun bike for our newphew

Chillafish Bmxie 2 lightweight balance bike is a cool looking balance bike and our nephew loved it! Pretty easy to assemble it took around 20-30 minutes. The integrated break pedal is pretty great and provides some emergency break fun. No puncture tyres allow for plenty of fun without breakdowns. Sturdy and lightweight but very well made this is definitely a hit with the kids and it's not overpriced. The bike survived few crashes so in our books it is worth the money.

Lightweight and durable

The first step for young children to learn how to ride a bike is to learn first how to balance on it. And for this, the Chillafish Bmxie 2 is a great choice. Our 2 years old boy, love this bike, took zero time to pick up the concept and it fits him perfectly in size and also the colour too. When arrived, needed a bit of dexterity as some of the parts needed to put together, like mounting the handlebar and the wheels on the frame. Wasn’t complicated at all, just followed the instruction and took me about 5 to 10 minutes. It's built very sturdy, my youngest is a walking disaster and even she can't do any damage to this thing. The whole bike is made from plastic, but it feels solid enough to not bend or dent, and thick enough so it virtually impossible to break. It’s also lightweight so it’s easy to lift even for my 2-year-old boy. The adjustable seat makes it perfect for either my 2yr old or my 4yr old to ride around on. And doesn’t require any special tool to adjust the hight so it can be done anywhere by anyone. It is featured with a footrest which actually works as a footbrake as well. I never seen anything like this on any other balance bike before so this might be a great selling point for the company. The tiers are airless so will never have a puncture. It’s made from proper rubber and not plastic, so it doesn’t make that bed plasticky noise on the tarmac or concrete surface. We got the green coloured one but it’s also available on many other colours suitable for girls and boys and also available with gender neutral colours too. All in all, we are happy with this balance bike, and I can highly recommend. It is lightweight, durable, and easy to manoeuvre. Our boy built up his confidence and he can go damn fast on it.

Sturdy, but had a struggle with assembly

The whole unit seems very well built and stylish. It arrived in two layers of package which makes it good if it is meant to be gifted to someone. After the whole installation process, these are some of the thoughts I have. Pros - nice and attractive design. - the colour looks vibrant and catchy in the eyes of the kids. - easy adjustment of the seat height. Not tools required at this stage. - the only type of tool required was a pair of Allen's keys which is included with the package. Cons - the price! Cost around £90 at this time of writing this note. There are of course many other similar products with lower price tag. - the front fork, wheel, and the handle bar needs to be assembled and It was a real pain. The fork wasn't passing through the head tube due to the small metal pipe placed inside the head tube. I did manage to fix it after a few careful impaction to the the metal pipe. - although it is tool free adjustment of the seat height, lack of instruction makes it tougher to understand the thread direction. Final thought - well built unit for the rough use. The price and installation guidance needs to be reviewed.

Super durable!

This is a fantastic balance bike from Chillafish - it's well made, sturdy and looks great. Out of the box there's a small amount of assembly required but it's simple stuff and within 10 minutes the bikes ready to go. It's made from tough plastic and has airless rubber wheels - as such it's lightweight yet very durable and you don't have to worry about getting flat tyres. A really nice feature is the adjustable seat which requires no tools to adjust and let's the bike grow with your child. It also has a built in footbrake which is invaluable - normally kids scrape their feet along the floor scuffing their trainers in the hope of stopping in time when using a balance bike but with this bike thays a thing of the past. The brake works best when the child uses both feet and also encourages them to balance as they have to put both of their feet up and push down to activate the braking action. Its slightly more expensive than a metal balance bike but it's far more durable, looks better and has great features - as such it gets 5 stars from me - reccomended.

Great to transitioning your child.

I have had a balance bike since my daughter was 2 and she loves it.I seen this bike and thought it was perfect. It’s comes well packaged in a decent size box. You have to put some parts together but really easy to assemble. At the time of purchase this was £89.99 and I opted for lime green & back. The lime colour is nice and bright. The pain work is of a excellent finish. This is a 12inch bike and adjusts from ages 2-5 years. The seat is adjustable without any tool so adjust it anyplace! The bike has a small side break which is great for coordination so your child can learn to ride & use a break. It works well doesn’t abruptly stop so your child can be thrown. The tyres are tubeless & rubber so no need to worry about punctures. They are hard wearing& durable. Made to do many trips out and about. They don’t feel like they would wear quickly. The tyres are really grippy so your little one can ride this bike in all terrains. My daughter went from a balance bike straight to a bike without stabilisers. These bikes are great. Ideal for helping your little one with balance and coordination. This definitely feels like a better quality balance bike, the chassis is durable and doesn’t feel like it would break. This bike grows with your child enabling you to get many uses and could be handed down. Good quality bike. Must have to bring your little one on. The quality of the bike is a high standard. Great value for money if you want more than just a basic balance bike.
