8 years later and still using it
using this attachment with a Nikon coolpix P900. Great product and been dealing with a problem since day 1. Problem is NOT pertaining to the product it's with my camera. The mounting hole in the bottom of the camera is not in the center where it should be to keep the camera balanced.

Camera always at the ready! This camera mount really exceeded my expectations.... Yes the product picture is misleading if you do not read the description fully... I used the camera mount in conjunction with a separate FLUSH base mount which I had to attach to my kayak. Once you attach your camera, you must position the mount so the swivel tightening knob does not interfere with the camera tightening nut. After that the mount easily swivels into your desired position with a slight loosen / tighten to the knob. What I really like is having my camera always at the ready in front of me, so I can snap pictures or videos in just a second, without having to pull the camera out. I took hours of videos and many snapshots on my recent 11 day kayak paddle down the Green River in Utah. I also employed a Scotty Gear Head Mount Extender which positioned the camera directly in front of me while paddling.

Does what it is supposed to do...
Like all Scotty products, it just works. The ONLY thing that would make this product better would be a camera quick release. If you don't want that... then it's a 5 star product.

Awesome design
I haven't mounted this to my paddleboard yet, but I know this will work well. I used a stick-on mount previously that has since broken off. This is so awesome because I have several mounting options and multiple posts where I can connect.

Exactly what I needed
I love this mount, since it fit with every scotty product, I was able to customize and set up as much as I wanted. It's stable and completely adjustable, kinda like a gimble, but obviously you lot ot in place once you find the right angle for you. Both sides of the platform are ready for your camera, phone or whatever you want. For the right side you need a clip that usually comes with action cameras y for the left side (where I have it mounted) you need the base that screws in.

Wiggles a little
The camera holder works great but when you set it into the base it wiggles a little, not enough to come out of the mount, but video may come out a little bumpy, I was only turning it on when we were stationary. I haven't yet looked at any video with me moving through the water at a faster pace than drifting on the lake. Hope this helps

Nice bit of kit has a slot for go pro and standard camera fixing, this is my second one I use one for go pro and second one to hold my phone in a Joby grip tight POV kit for control of go pro and viewing when go pro screen switches off.

2 mounting options and Hardware is included!!!!!
Solid construction, easy to turn screws! Very easy to manipulate while on the go! Love that it has 2 types of camera mounts and 2 types of attachment mount. I have my screwed on to my Scotty Bait Board, but it also come with the flush mount stem! All hardware is included which is a big plus!!!! Easy decision to buy!!!!!

Handy mount
This is a handy mount .not to big it gets in your way ,have it attached to my kayak with video cam on it ,had a few good knocks and it took them well ,easy to use as well,worth the money
