Allergic to past jet black dyes

I had to turn into a henna/indo girl because of my 2 almost anaphylaxis reactions to regular hair dye. But henna is super annoying. My grays are coming in on a monthly basis now that I'm 42 and I'm not ready to embrace that. Regular dye leaves my ears and eyes swollen and putrid. My neck and forehead would have giant oozing bumps. So I had bad reactions. But it's been years since I've used fast acting dyes. First I took a few extra doses of my hydroxyzine and montelukast since I have overactive mast cells. I react to friction (that's a WHOLE other story). So I took my meds, did a patch test. Took one extra hydroxyzine again and did just the front half of my hair. I also have extra triamcinolone and I coated my ears and neck preemptively. Oh yeah, and after the application I soaked my hair in potassium permanganate because that stops the oxidation of hair dye. I don't know what worked. Did I have to do all those steps? I don't know. All I know is that is has been 2 days and I don't have not one awful reaction. I don't look like a Klingon. I am happy that I did not have to go to urgent care for a shot. The dye took soo well. Allergy sufferers, take precautions. Maybe this brand is our hope!

Does not damage hair.

I’ve been using this product for about a year now, as I jumped back to brunette from blonde. This product gives nice and even coverage with a touch of shine! I favor the color Ash Brown 6.0, it’s a rich darker cocoa brown with no red or brassy tones. As the color fades it does not look artificial or leaves you with an unpleasant tone like a lot of other hair dyes. What I love most about this product is that it does not damage the hair. while coloring, I let it set for 20 minutes and I shampoo out. For me it’s enough time to achieve the color I want without over processing. This product is ammonia free, which is a huge plus! I generally do a refresh on the color every 4-6 weeks. You would be able to go longer, but I’m super OCD about shade of brunette I want in my hair. Lovely product and highly recommend!

Goodbye henna and indigo, hello Schwarzkopf!

I had to switch to henna and indigo many years ago because of the chemicals in the hair dyes available. It was such a messy, time consuming process, always a daunting and time consuming process. I figured there must be something out there I could use on my hair by now so I started searching, and found this product. I'm so glad I did! Easy, fast, great grey coverage, beautiful color, and my hair is shiny and healthy looking. I used the dark chocolate color and it's absolutely gorgeous. As long as you make it, I'm buying it!

New favorite hair dye!

I stopped dyeing my hair a while back because I was tired of the messy process, I hated the smell, and I was never happy with the how the color turned out. But as my greys started to multiply, I decided to try out this brand, and I'm so glad I did! It was so much easier to apply and wash out. It has very little chemical smell, so it was much more tolerable for my sensitive nose. The color (I picked dark chocolate) looks gorgeous, and my curls came out looking softer with the conditioner. This is definitely going to be a repeat buy. :)

Dark chocolate dye.

As you can see, I went from this light orange color to chocolate dark. I was skeptical at first because the cream was not a dark color when I squeezed it into the bottle and even aftet shaking it, but after 15 mins of the dye being in my hair it got really dark. Pros: does not burn head, color is dark, doesn't smell like reg dye. Cons: squeeze bottle was super hard to get into the bottle, I was struggling to get everything in so I just tossed out the remaining . I don't know if this is how chocolate dark is supposed to look like but it looks like it has a red tint to it.

Works well

Works pretty good, nice and rich color, no irritation for my very sensitive scalp. I coloured 2 weeks ago and have noticed some grey starting to poke through, but it is fine because regular hair color is pretty much the same and makes my scalp itch and break out, so this is pretty good alternative to going grey in my 40's.

I developed an allergic reaction to to most hair colors an this hair color is the Bomb! no more irritated or itchy scalp an the coverage is awsome this Brand has no ppd in it ! My new brand for life yall !

Love the color!

I got the color Dark Chocolate and so far I love it! Dyed it last night. Wanted just a few shades darker than my natural color, and a slightly cooler tone. It came out exactly as I hoped. Can't speak for how it will look over time. I did get separate gloves since I didn't trust what came in the box, I used Vaseline on my hairline to avoid dying my skin, and I kept everything in a shower cap for the 30 min it was processing.

Perfect for super sensitive to colour

I couldn't get my hair colored at a regular salon, because i started this allergy not only on my scalp but redness and itchiness over my entire body. It came out of nowhere, been coloring all my life but it started 5 months ago. I changed to Naturtint, which is Ammonia free, but i still had the same issue as before, so i tried Schwarzkopf Simply Color and i didn't get the reaction i used to. I hope it stays that way, only thing is i have to color every 3 weeks. It's okay, as long as i can cover my greys without an issue :)

Great coverage and beautiful color

My hair is thinning and I needed something not very harsh to color it with. Love this hair die! Covered my gray roots and the color is beautiful. The color is cool brown. I did my roots first, left the die for 15 min then did the whole length and left it for another 15 min.

It's good but very expensive for a dye that isn't permanent.

I like it because of it's no ammonia etc but that also means it doesn't cover the grey enough or for a longer time than permanent. But you can't have it both ways, I guess. The length of time to keep it on is as long as the permanent dye so if you are looking for a no ammonia dye, then sure use it BUT it's super expensive compared to the Drugstore options.

Color didnt turn out as expected...

I don't know if it is due to the thickness of my hair or how long I left the developer in for, but it ended up MUCH darker than the color on the box. Its more of a "Black Cherry" than chocolate cherry. A mostly dark ebony wood color with the slightest reddish shine only when the light hits it. My hair was an average medium brown and I only wanted a slightly redder hue but now I'm kinda resigned to this deep dark shroud. Oh well. Probably wouldnt get again.
