7-Year-Old Nephew Loved it! **4 Stars**
I had never heard of this brand of toys/characters, but it looks like something my 7-year-old nephew is into, so I grabbed one for him. Upon unboxing, he immediately knew the character and was excited that he was going to be able to have the chance to put it together. He also really enjoyed opening the mini creatures and seeing how interchangeable the head is and how many there are to collect. I did take one star away because it is not overly moveable (only the arms move), but my nephew could truly care less, he just wants to collect each of the characters/heads. Six weeks later, he still plays with it daily and I have since purchased more mini creatures to add to his collection. My rating system: 1 Star - Do not recommend 2 Stars - Disliked it 3 Stars - It's okay 4 Stars - Liked it 5 Stars - Loved it

Cool but limited
Schleich has been making quality toys for many years, so we were familiar with the name when we ordered this set of figures. You get one main lava robot and then several "drivers". The detail and paint on the main figure are actually pretty cool, with some metallic dry brushing and center "glow", and the figure is solid and heavy. Articulation is quite limited, only the arms can swivel, and there is a place to put the various smaller driver figures. The smaller figures have little to no paint application, and come in blind bags, so you don't know what you're getting and it's possible to receive duplicates. Apparently they are all, including the weapons, compatible with other robot figures in the series, though we don't have any so can't test that out. With a variety of the robots, drivers and weapons, there could be some decent play value here, but with just the one, play is limited, except maybe as a robot character with other 4" or 5" action figures. Fun little toys, but I think the current asking price of $30 is a bit high.

Unusual, but hasn't become a favorite toy
This is pretty cool to look at, but it doesn't have a lot of posability/articulation. That may be why it hasn't gotten a lot of playtime. I'd expected it to be more of a hit, but there's no predicting kids.

Detailed, but only the arms can be moved.
This Schleich robot action figure is made out of heavy plastic and has a detailed painted surface, but it's not the most exciting. The only moving parts on this action figure are the arms, but the head can be swapped out. The included battle weapon on this action figure can fit on either hand, but it can also easily fall out. The painted orange spot on the chest on this figure doesn’t look great in comparison to the metallic paint on the rest of the body. The heads or “mini creatures” are interesting, but on one of them I noticed the eyes are obscured when set on the body of the action figure. I think it's a unique action figure from Schleich and the distressed painted finish does make it look like metal, but the lack of articulating joints makes it less exciting. I would say this is more of a figurine, than action figure, but I would recommend it since it is constructed well, but kind of boring.

Made of durable plastic with lots of detail
I’ve only ever known Scheligh to be makers of lifelike animals and creatures, so I was surprised to see this action figure. I figured I couldn’t go wrong as Schleigh is known for their quality, making items that can be passed down or used in a preschool setting where they would be subject to lots of handling and play. This action figure is made of impressively nice plastic. It has some heft to it. The detailing is excellent, ask be expected from this brand. The little packs of surprise toys is a fun idea, and keeps in line with what a lot of toy makers are doing nowadays. I am a bit disappointed that the smaller toys aren’t that impressive, and overall these seem like better display toys than actual playable ones. Perhaps my kiddo isn’t the right demographic for this set as he’s into Transformers and Bakugans. Overall, these are nice for what they are, but I probably wouldn’t buy them again.

A new creature with expanded features
Schleich makes some pretty cool looking toys, and while this one tries something a little different, still fits into the toyline perfectly. Unlike other creatures in the Eldrador toyline this one has interchangeable heads or statues they call minis. The little minis come in blind bags and represent different elements. They all have pegs that fit regardless of which giant robot you bought. And you can stack them up to form an army in case you buy more in the line. The larger creature is called a Lava robot, but it’s more of a stone golem to me. It has 2 moveable arms, the legs do not move, and is about 5” high. The lava insignia on the chest is painted on and it includes the translucent red lava head. Also included is a red staff and 4 blind bagged minis. I must have gotten lucky and opened 2 special golden minis! While I think this is a great fantasy toy, and will make a great gift, here is what I don’t like. The paint and detail on the creature is fantastic. However the mini’s paint application just don’t seem to match the same style as the robot. I would have preferred a little more dry brushing, color matching, or something so the little heads look more cohesive on the creature.

Fun but not super poseable
really fun to set up and open, but the minimal posing of the arms and legs and the non possibility of the "rider" makes the fun wear off quickly to me. the extra guys in the pack was nice but like i said if the figures had some swivel or arm leg movement it might make for more "playfun"

Cool but missing “wow” factor
First of all, impressive packaging- my son had all the heart eyes for it. We are big fans of Schleich- we saved Schleich toys from my first child, my second played with them- they are still in great shape and can probably be saved for my grandkids too. With that said, I feel a slight disappointment about this figure. It is cool and all, but with all the skills of Schleich masters I feel like it could have been more exciting. A plastic mech suit with two moving arms and a few spare parts- it is cool, but not “wow”.
