Very nice lockset, but no square cornered faceplates

I purchased this Schlage F51A ORB 619 keyed entry lockset in Satin Nickel and a matching Schlage B62N619 double keyed Deadbolt for a new entry door primarily to blend well with the satin nickel door hinges and caming on the decorative glass. I found both items to be of very high quality. I had them rekeyed to match the other antique brass Orbit style existing Schlage lock sets in my home. The 25 y/o lock which was replaced was worn. This new one works very slickly, both the lockset and the deadbolt. The setback is adjustable as 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" and was a straightforward install in my 2-3/8" setback pre-drilled door assembly. ------------------ Update: I purchased (2) Schlage Orbit Passage knobsets and (1) Schlage Orbit Privacy knobset last week to replace the existing door hardware in my redecorated home office to match the Orbit keyed entry lockset. As all three doors were prepared by hand many years ago, I needed the square cornered latch faceplates and strikes. When I ordered similar replacement knob sets in May of 2015, the product description included "Universal latch and Triple Option faceplate fit standard door preparations". The product description for these same Schlage Orbit knobs in Satin Nickel still as of March 1, 2016 includes the same description "Universal latch and Triple Option faceplate fit standard door preparations" HOWEVER what is shipped is clearly labelled **DUAL OPTION LATCH** which means rounded corner latch faceplate and strikes (plus the round, no faceplate bushing). So, the Amazon description is wrong. I arranged to return them, then determined that I could not find a source (Amazon or other online hardware vendors) for the real Triple option latch units. It would appear the square corner faceplates and strikes have been dropped for cost savings. I went to a local locksmith and he could not find just the square cornered faceplates and strikes in his catalog, but a phone call to his distributor found that they were available so he ordered 3 latch faceplates and strikes in Satin Nickel for me. It cost me $10.00 per set (square cornered latch faceplate + strike) or half again as much as Amazon's price, but still less than ordering the whole knobset from a locksmith. I wish some effort went into keeping Amazon's descriptions accurate.

At times, I struggle with getting the key into the lock; not sure if it's the key, the lock or the user! (I may try a little lock-lubricant) Anyways, it was a great price and it serves the purpose well which is the important thing. It was pretty easy for hubby to install even though he does not like doing this type of stuff. It blends in with all the other orbital-shaped hardware we have in the same area and doesn't stand out as being 'different' from the other door knobs.We put the lock on our office door b/c our teenage daughter likes to go into the office and to use the full length mirror in there. Sometimes we have financial papers sitting around and we just thought it would be better to secure the entire office instead of hiding the papers from curious eyes.

good quality. description not clear.

I bought the wrong one initially, returned it and got this one. It looks exactly like what I wanted. Got it re-keyed at local shop and it's working great so far. It would have been nicer if product description had more pictures from side and front.

No matching keys!

Ordered 2 deadbolts and 2 locksets in satin nickel that is not available at Lowes or Home Depot. Locksets and deadbolts all have different keys! What a bunch of crap! I ordered them from Schlage direct so they would match.

Schlage, my favorite.

It is amazing when I can find these knobs on a good deal. They are built to last and very sturdy. Will definitely keep and eye on deals. I have become a supporter of Schlage products due to their quality vs any cheap products in the market.
