Great product, silly instructions
The basic principle with this bottle warmer is that once you add water to the plugged-in warmer it immediately heats up the water to boiling, immersing the bottle in a steam bath, until the water is gone, at which point it automatically shuts off. This functionality works great and is easy to use. However the means to measure the water is a small vial that comes with markings from 2 - 8 (but which do not correspond to actual measurements or fixed increments of volume). It makes no sense (2x4 does not equal 8), and is overly complicated using different combinations for glass, plastic, widemouth, breast milk, formula, etc. There are several ways this could be improved - maybe include multiple vials or use separate markings on different sides for glass, plastic, and widemouth bottles labeled with the actual number of ounces being heated) - or even just by using real measurements so that one could easily convert between amounts instead of fussing with filling the vial up several times to get the right amount. The other "glitch" is that the user is instructed to wait 10 minutes between uses (maybe to avoid steam burns if pouring hot water into an already hot chamber?). With twin boys on the same feeding schedule that obviously wasn't happening and I did not see any ill effects. Do so at your own risk, obviously. Our boys were not particularly fussy so I found that for a 4 oz feeding I just needed to use about a "6" on the vial to get their formula or breast milk to an acceptable temperature and I warmed up many bottles back to back with no problems.

great bottle warmer-- far superior to the AVENT one!!
This is a very good bottle warmer. We originally had the Philips AVENT Express Food and Bottle Warmer, and the Boon Orb Bottle Warmer is FAR superior to it. The Boon heats up the bottle according to the amount of water you put in it. Once that water evaporates, the light turns off, indicating that the bottle is done. With the AVENT bottle warmer, the length of time the bottle is heated appears to be determined by an internal timer. The amount of water you put in it has nothing to do with how long the bottle is warmed. So there's more flexibility with the Boon to warm the bottle just as much as you want (the AVENT has only a few settings). The other thing I like so much better about the Boon is that when the light goes off, the unit is off. You do not also have to remember to flip a switch (on the BACK!), like you do with the AVENT. Back when we were using the AVENT bottle warmer, I can't tell you how many times I found myself in bed, about to drift off to sleep after feeding my baby his bottle and putting him back to bed, only to jolt awake because I couldn't remember if I'd turned off the AVENT bottle warmer. There's no way around it -- at that point, you simply have to get up and check. Irrespective of whether you really did leave it on, you're still up all over again -- and who needs an extra night wakening when you have a baby in the house? And there were absolutely times when we did leave the AVENT on, and did not realize it until literally hours later -- which always made me extremely uncomfortable, because that's clearly got to be a fire hazard. Of note, neither bottle warmer has any kind of auditory signal indicating that the bottle is done. But that's really the only area for improvement I can think of for the Boon Orb Bottle Warmer.

Great concept but does not work with glass bottles
I did a lot of research about which bottle warmer to buy. I bought this based on the reviews, but I am sad to say this does not work for us at all. I needed something quick, easy, and user-friendly for my mom and mother-in-law, who will be the caretakers of our baby. I thought that all I have to do is tell them the correct line to fill, dump in the water, press the button, and voila - perfectly warmed milk. Good thing we decided to put this to a trial run before handing it over to our moms. We have continuous tried this for the past week and cannot get our milk to a "warm" temperature. It's either too hot or too cold. My baby takes my pumped milk in a Dr Brown 4 oz glass bottle with a preemie nipple. Our first try, we follow the table for breast milk, and the milk came out burning hot (this is straight from fridge to warmer). On our second bottle, we reduced the amount of water to add by half and it was still cold. The instructions don't differentiate between plastic or glass bottles. Glass bottles probably heat up faster so I proceed to make my own chart. The next few times we still couldn't get it right. It was either too cold so we add water in "1" increments, or too hot so I had to run it under cold water to bring it back down. Finally, I decided to experiment around with water. I let bottles of water sit in the fridge, wait about an hour or two in between before heating a bottle up. I just can’t get it to the right temp. Worse, it doesn't even work the way you would think. I filled to line 3 for 3 oz of "milk", and it came out perfect. I was excited and decided to try line 4 for 4 oz of “milk”, it was hot. So I reduced to line 3 for 4 oz of “milk”, came out piping hot! I don’t see how it can become hotter when I added less water to it. Plus, line 3 for 3 oz is perfect, but line 3 for 4 oz is too hot? I really wanted this product to work for us. I am a chemist by profession and unfortunately the results are too inconsistent for me to keep this warmer. I am not about to go and buy different plastic bottles to hope that it can work. I am returning it and hopefully they will issue my refund.

Bottles are hot, milk is cold
Got this because it fits our bottles, but it was honestly so frustrating to use! It leave the outside of the bottle scalding hot, and somehow the milk inside is still cold. The tiny measuring cup for water is difficult to use in the best of times, but flat out impossible if you have a crying baby in one arm. We lasted less than a week with this before buying another one. Will be looking to return it.

Used it a lot and loved it
This thing is amazing! We love it. Used it to warm milk, and quickly sterilize nipples and soothers! Sometimes the chart was off when it came to how much water to put in for the proper temp. But I just started dumping a full thing of water in and then removed the bottle when I thought it was warm enough. If it wasn’t I just dropped it back in while it was still running. Obviously use a tea towel to pull the bottle out while the steam is running still.

not a great fit
I have dr browns tall bottles, even with the skinny bottle insert the mouth of the bottle warmer is too wide and the steam just escapes instead of warming up my bottles. I have twins and being able to heat up a bottle for them quickly is very important. If this bottle warmer had a lid I bet it would heat things up past room temp very easily. It was also frustrating to try to get the right amount of water poured in every time I needed to heat a bottle, it doesn't have a reservoir so you have to fill it each time you use it. It was not very easy to clean out, and a pain to use. It was very cute though and very compact, so it was a shame we couldn't get more use out of it. Ended up returning it after one week due to the issues stated above.

Barely works
All of the bad reviews are accurate. I only bought this bottle warmer because it's the same design as all the other Boon drying racks I have on my counter, but this thing is so hard to use. The water guide they give you is completely inaccurate, so I'm always left always guessing what amount of water to put in. It's so hard to fill the tube when you're holding a baby and the opening is so small that I have to turn my tap on to the point it's just dripping water into it, otherwise the water pressure is too much and water just shoots out everywhere. Even using the max amount of water to steam my plastic Avent bottles (filled only half full - 60 mls), the bottle comes out scorching hot but the milk is still fridge temperature. At very best this is just reducing the chill of the milk but it's still cold when I give it to my baby. Not to mention, the 'on' button is so flimsy, it's hard to get to it actually push it 'on', and the water keeps steaming even after the 'on' light goes off. This product is so cheap I consider it a major fire hazard - make sure to follow their instructions and keep this unplugged when you are not supervising its use.

Good but not perfect
Really love the look of this and it was a great deal. The button’s a bit finicky though and the heating system can be a challenge. There is a tiny measuring cup with letters indicating the amount of water. Each letter is assigned a quantity and type of milk to be heated. I don’t really consult the booklet, so the milk turns out at varying temperatures. Not sure such a complicated system is needed, but I haven’t tried other brands. Pieces are coming off of the top layer of the heating plate, so, it feels like the material was never meant to get in direct contact with water (at least, so often).
