Good quality for the price
I bought this because it was on the cheaper side but still had decent reviews. I’d say that this is absolutely worth the price. You get what you pay for, it’s not the best quality and it scratches easy. But it’s good quality. It hold all of my books without a problem and the instructions are clear so it’s easy to assemble.

Perfect for a kids room & price
My daughter kept asking for a doll house or something she could use to play with her 18inch dolls on. I wanted to get something that could still be used after the doll phase is over. I read reviews and decided to get 2 of these when they were on sale. My dad who is handy put both shelves together within about an hour and a half. The one thing I marked down for was that the middle shelf is permanent (I may have missed that in the description or reviews) so we had to adjust our measurements a bit but it still worked out. We put them on their side and secured them to each other and the wall.

Great alternative to expensive closet systems
I was looking for a “California Closet” without breaking the bank. I think this worked out pretty well. The span from end to end was too long to run one rod, the bookcase is very easy to assemble and sturdy enough to attach the closet rods to. I did attach the bookcase to the wall with brackets for safety.

These are a little shaky but for the price, amazing. I used L brackets and wood brace on the back and they were fine. I'm using them for my plants in front of the side windows in my bedroom. As my plant addiction grows, ill probably buy more.

Look great & fairly easy to assemble
Assembly instructions only ok but even so pretty easy to look at & get it together. I didn’t need the strap for the wall to add stability but if you have uneven floors and need it seems a bit flimsy. I put two back to back for a deep storage unit. Worked great!

Assembly has gotchas
These are standard-issue white particle-board bookshelves. Which is what I wanted. What I didn't want was to have to hand-screw in 2" long wood screws with no guides at multiple critical locations. Locations which were at the very beginning and therefore needed to be done PERFECTLY. A task which manually screwing in LONG UNGUIDED screws is poorly suited for, even with the most steady of hands. My slight inaccuracies with these CRITICAL screws caused misalignment flaws which propagated through the entire rest of assembly, resulting in gaps, bumps, a spot where I busted through the laminate, and other not-so-great-looking irregularities. Could I have drilled my own guide holes? Maybe. The particle board was thin and it would have been risky. Either way, I didn't because the manual specifically says, "don't use power tools at any point of assembly..." Anyway, I've put together loads of furniture in my life and can say that this wood screw thing was utterly ridiculous and worthy of a 2-star review. Why not 1-star? Because I kept them. At the end of day they are just some white shelves covered in books in a corner of a room. If you care about your bookshelves being perfect, then these are going to cause you a lot of frustration.

It's okay ...
This is one of those "get what you play for" deals. On the plus side: - the shelf is inexpensive, and easy to assemble. - all of the parts were present, instructions were fairly clear. - comes with a wall mount bracket, screws, etc. for securing it to the wall. Good if you have heavy pets/kids. On the minus side: - Depending on the type of books you have (paperback vs. larger hardcovers and children's novels) it could do with including another shelf. There is a lot of wasted space between shelves. - The pins that hold the 3 moveable shelves are plastic. They could be okay, but I am not confident they'll hold up to heavy loads (and for how long). We'll see. - The "backing" pieces are cheap cardboard and very thin. I tore one during assembly. Be careful when nailing them down.

Nope
I am never buying anything with the name "Sauder" on it again. Cheap bookshelf. At first I was impressed by the packaging and all the extra re-reinforcements on the outside of the box. Then I realised that otherwise the units would probably be falling apart by the time they got to their destination. I feel that this is cheaply engineered and made. Box said made in Mexico, one shelf was stamped as made in Malaysia. Discoloration, bad alignment, edge of some finishing showing marks. I had much better luck with the South Shore unit I ordered at the same time:South Shore Furniture Axess Collection, 4-Shelf Bookcase, Black . Do yourself a favour and stay away from the Sauder one. Walmart, Ikea, etc will have much better value for your money. I feel I have wasted the time I spent assembling it and will probably disassemble and send to the landfill shortly.

Great Deal!
Size, colour, and sturdiness of the shelf is worth the money. I bought it to be used as a bookshelf. I am happy with my purchase, and I would recommend it.
