Effective
I've had this for almost three years and logged over 20k kms. PROS: It was easy to assemble and set up. Customer service support was responsive when I reported the missing tension cable assembly. CONS: High price, received missing the tension cable assembly, and I found out (after warranty expired) that the roller is plastic and the tires melted it little bit at a time over the course of use. I just bought the replacement roller, and to my surprise it's metal; it should have been from the beginning and I shouldn't have had to buy a replacement (which is only available directly from the manufacturer).

This is an AMAZING alternative to buying a standing bike
bought this for my husband for christmas. He was missing biking in these cold months. He LOVES this. He uses it every day. It's sturdy, well made and a WAY cheaper alterntive to buying a recumbent or standing bike. Worth every penny.

Good Basic Trainer, Frame Paint Finish Came Damaged
This is a very solid entry level trainer. It’s easy to set up and use. The noise level is ok. I use it with a floor fan in front of the bike and fairly loud music, so it’s really not an issue for me. The resistance is adjustable using a knob located on the side of the resistance unit, and is not adjustable while riding. My road bike has a wide gear range, so I just set the resistance unit to a middle value of “2” or “3”, and change gears on the bike for a harder or easier workout. If you’re using a single speed bike you may want to consider a model that lets you change the resistance while riding. The bike mounts easily into the frame, and the included axle quick release gives a solid engagement. Since the locking mechanism slides open and closed it only takes a few seconds to get the bike on or off the trainer. CycleOps recommends tightening the resistance unit knob that engages the rear tire 2-1/2 turns. I found that to be way too tight for my 700x25 tire, 1-1/2 turns is more than enough for solid engagement. This will vary based on the size and type of tire being used. The one issue I had with the trainer was a very poor paint job on the frame. When I opened the legs big flakes of yellow paint flew off, and more paint chipped off when I engaged the sliding locking mechanism. In places the paint looked like it had been applied before the welds cooled, it had turned color and looked pretty bad. I contacted CycleOps about the poor paint job, and they immediately sent out a replacement frame. The new frame has no paint issues, and I was very pleased with CycleOps warranty service. The trainer has a lifetime warranty, another great feature. So, if you’re looking for an inexpensive, solid basic resistance trainer without a lot of bells and whistles, this trainer is a good choice.

Basic Indoor Trainer
The trainer is well built and solidly made. The assembly was simple with the included instructions. The cable adjustments for the resistance was a bit confusing but if followed the adjuster worked as designed. Once assembled my road bike with 700 tires fit well and it was a stable riding platform. The one complain I have is that the resistance adjustment offers very little resistance if any at all. I contacted the manufacture and was told that the function of the magnetic resistance would not supply the level of resistance I was looking for and would need to get the resistance through my bike gearing. They recommended that I switch to one of the fluid trainers. I have used other manufactures trainers that offer a real resistance with an adjustable magnetic system. I was looking for a trainer that I could use in lieu of a smart trainer by making resistance adjustments manually. I returned the unit and purchased a smart wheel on trainer.

Incredibly, and remove shifter DOES work with adjustment
Overall, this trainer is absolutely amazing. I have used it regularly for several months now, and it is extremely high quality and works great. Some reviewers had indicated that the remote shift apparatus didn't work properly, and they are partially correct - it might not work right out of the box. HOWEVER, there is a little metal collar on the connecting cable that can be easily adjusted to increase the tension on the cable, which then allows it to operate properly. The instructions that come in the box aren't super clear about this, so I see how it could be potentially confusing/missed during setup/assembly. With that said, having the remote shifter is amazing. I actually don't know how I would ride inside without it - it allows me to gradually warm up and cool down, as well as simulate hills, etc. during my training ride without having to get off the bike. It's an extremely sturdy and well-made trainer. Also, you can ride on regular roads/trails using the special axel required/supplied for the trainer- you don't have to swap it back and forth with the axel that came with your bike. This allows you to easily switch back and forth between clipping your bike into the trainer and outdoor riding. The one tiny drawback is that, if your bike has extremely large diameter tires like mine (29" I think), you might have to prop the trainer on something if you ride on carpeting (I set mine on two 2 x 4's), otherwise the wheel will rub on the carpet while you're riding. If you have smaller wheels, this won't be a problem.

Great Product
The product itself is amazing. The directions to set up the product are not so good. The saving grace is that they did a great job of doing a YouTube video to show you how to set up the product. I ended up throwing out the directions and going directly to the YouTube video to show me how to set it up. The only reason that I gave it a 4/5 is because of the poorly written instructions. Other than that, the product itself is amazing. Quiet, easy to use and easy to install on almost any bike. We have set up a road bike and a mountain bike on it, both work great. Good price for a quality product.

Amazingly quiet with a trainer tire.
Amazing product...with a basic mountain bike setup, the noise was too much for me.so I purchased a $50 continental home trainer tire and new tube, installed it myself very easily, and oh my lord it’s so quite. I love it so much, I’m happy I paid a bit more for a quality trainer. Strongly recommend

Affordable and gets the job done.
Stable and the peddling is helping my knees and legs. Able to make it work for my bike but I had to buy a wheel to be able to have the correct skewer to fit the bike mount. Took some ingenuity to figure it out. The downside is I have to leave it on highest tension to get even some resistance... still it is enough to keep my leg muscles strong and the price is right. Also small and stable ... easy for me to store and move It around and no risk of this old lady tipping over.
