Very comfortable on my old feet
As I've gotten older, my feet have gotten longer and wider. I now wear shoes that are 11, 11.5 or 12 with "wide" or 3E sizing... (used to wear 9.5-10 D, so don't assume your shoe size will stay the same for your whole life, in my 60s now and haven't been able to wear a 9.5 D shoe in 20 years). I debated whether to order these sandals in 11, 11.5, or 12 in one of the widest size options. I after reading some reviews where people said they were pulling the heel strap way in, I decided to try size 11 (wide) first and it was the right choice. The sandal is wide enough for my spreading-out feet. The sandals these are replacing felt like strapping boards to the bottom of my feet. My older feet also like soft cushy soles/insoles... A LOT. And I was a little concerned about reviews that said these sandals were NOT very soft/cushy in the sole/insole, but those reviews said the sandals were comfortable anyway... and that is true. These aren't real cushy on the sole, but the certainly don't feel like boards on the bottom of my feet either. First day wearing them was long "day out" trip... 2 hours of driving, exploring a small town, having lunch, more driving, another couple of hours exploring a preserved old west town, 2 more hours of driving home. Brought comfortable walking shoes and socks in case the sandals weren't comfortable enough to make it through the whole day. The sandals lasted the whole day without ever once feeling even slightly uncomfortable. Have since worn them for several afternoons with the same result. As long as the 2 top straps and the heel strap are adjusted right, these sandals are really comfortable in spite of not having the cushiest sole/insole. I have other sandals with "rubber" insoles that are really uncomfortable and the sandals that feel like boards have smooth leather insoles. These sandals have a suede-like covering on the insole. Another brand of sandal I had with that sort of insole covering wore through the extremely thin suede-like covering very quickly exposing "rubber" underneath. I hope that doesn't happen with these sandals, only time will reveal how durable the insole is, but I've never worn through anything on the insole of other New Balance products I've owned. Some have mentioned that there's not a lot of arch support... I would agree with that. BUT they were still extremely comfortable on my feet. For the review, I debated over 4 or 5 stars, if they had 4.5, I'd give these 4.5 because of the excellent early performance, I wonder if I would have liked them even more with a softer sole/insole. I do have orthotics with arch support and neuroma pads (you'll probably find out about this stuff when you get older too!) that aren't practical to use with sandals, but there's nothing more comfortable than sandals on a summer day. So I really needed something I could wear that offered good foot support without the orthotics and these are working for me so far.

Side by side comparison with the Propet
I am not a sandal wearer but I busted my big toe and now must wear them. On my first day out I got caught in a rainstorm; it took over a day in direct sun for them to dry out. They are not water resistant. I decided I needed a second pair and ordered in the Propet which is about half the price of the Dunham ($55 vs $95). I now have about 5 walking miles, (2 two and a half mile walks) on each one, several days casual around the house and right now I have the Dunham on one foot and the Propet on the other. Here is the comparison. The basic designs are almost identical with a three strap system. The 6E Dunham and the 5E Propet both fit fine. I adjusted the rear strap initially and have not had to touch them since. The two top of the foot straps are easy to get in and out of and you can set them tight or loosely and the sandal stays on. The Dunham straps slide easily through the ring opening so that you can lift your foot straight up and then plop straight down when you put them back on. But this does require you to thread the straps back through the rings each time. The Propet can probably do this too but you would have to work at it to slide the strap out of the ring. The straps fatten up in the middle to keep them ifrom sliding out of the ring. This means you don't plop in from the top but rather slide in from the rear which is easy. Take your pick. I prefer the Propet since I do not have to hassle with the rings. The Propet appears slightly more substantial than the Dunham which is looser with a more relaxed fit, (Propet break in will probably improve this). Comfort is about equal. There is no difference in cushioning or wear and tear on the feet and legs after long walks. From the looks of the sole and cushion, the Propet, may be water resistant but I do not know yet. One big thing for those who need arch support; the Propet has an arch support and it works fine. The Dunham does not have an arch support but I was able to get my orthodics in place; they stayed and it worked. The big thing is the price. I cannot understand what Dunham thinks they are giving me for twice the price. Price, strapping and arch support is a no brainer win for Propet.

Well made
Fit good ,cushioning moderate, heel stiff, but I would recommend these to others as my feet may be the problem for perfection

Pas facile de trouver ces EEEE en boutique
C'était exactement la même sandale que celle que mon mari avait et c'était exactement ce qu'il voulait. Pas facile de trouver des largeurs EEEE dans les boutiques. Parfait!

Could be good fakes- no way for me to know
Received my pair of Dunham sandals in 'amazon' packaging- apparently the box was so badly damaged they threw it away. The sandals seem fine but time will tell- this is not my first pair previous pair was bought from a local retailer- lasted 6+ years
