Precise and practical kitchen scale

I've owned a few kitchen scales by now. Most of them have an imprecise display, the measurement wobbles a few grams, some start to measure at 8g and above, some have software with glitches and battery removal is occasionally required, some do not show negative number when removing the bowl, some are very slow, some are such that you cannot see the scale when a larger bowl or plate is on the scale and some turn off while you measure. This kitchen balance has none of these shortcomings. It's solid, precise and stable. In addition, the balance flat has a removable metal plate which can be washed and you don't have to soak your scale with water to clean it. Now that I own this scale, I've noticed that other professional bakers use the same brand. So I give it a two thumbs up. —-//—— Update one year later: the scale has seen some rough handling and it’s still holding great. Occasionally I’ve used some other brand scales (highly rated as well) and they are not as good as this one. I continue to give it a two thumbs up.

Scale does not weigh grams in increments. Cannot read 3.5 grams. Reads 4 or 5 grams; not in between.

Accurate, Cheaply Made

This scale is better than the one I had already of similar price range. This one measures accurately. It has a stainless cover plate that can be removed to wash (albeit very hard to get off). It comes with good (Duracell) batteries not yet installed. It is easy to use and program and has tare feature which zeros out the weight of whatever is on it and lets you measure what you add after that separately. Very handy for multiple ingredients or adjusting for container weights. The paint on this strips too easily unfortunately. I dropped some essential oils on it and the paint wiped right off and left the scale body very sticky/tacky. It also takes a bit long to turn off and I haven't yet figured out how to manually turn it off. Wastes the battery. It is quite small, and constructed of very light materials. I'd rather have something more durable. It is crazy low profile, making it stable. So, this is a good scale for a low budget. It works great. Accurate enough for soap etc. It is not a large or nice scale and time will tell how long it lasts.
