Helpful hint for extending product life
I had been using the regular Safety 1st appliance locks on my toilets because that’s what I had lying around; however, after too many cleanings, they’d eventually come loose loose and pop off. I decided to try this product after I finally ran out of replacements. What I love about this one is the fact that the strap swings down and out of the way when the toilet is in use. But, like some of the other reviewers, I had difficulty getting it to adhere completely flush due to the curvature of my toilet bowl. No matter how much pressure I applied, there remained a significant gap at the bottom. It likely would be only a matter of time before it popped off. My solution? Seal the entire perimeter with silicone sealant/caulk. Not only did it fill the bottom gap, now it will protect from moisture seeping into the adhesive. I’m confident that this simple and fairly inexpensive solution will extend the life of this product. I hope this tip helps! - An increasingly handy mom with a very crafty, safety-averse special needs toddler 8/7/2022 update: My caulk/sealant trick has unfailingly held this in place. However, due to frequent daily use, the lock itself is starting to break down—both the rubber exterior and the internal locking mechanism. This is to be expected given how rough my family is on most household items, and I’d venture to say that this item lasted longer than most. I happily ordered a replacement.

Best toilet lock ever!!
We tried everything and almost gave up after our son used brute force to rip all the others off only to flush a plastic shot glass down the toilet and cost us a $200 plumber bill. Someone recommended this to us and it has been on our toilet for almost a year with no issues!! The adhesive has survived the boy wonder and the fake button is an added bonus! Highly recommend for rough toddlers!!!

Not great for long term
Edited: ok I have edited my original review as I have had this for just over a month now and it came off. The bottom adhesive that sticks to the bowl part came up and as it didn't come with anything to restick it, it is now useless. It's also really hard to remove the top part (ironic, right?) The part that sticks to lid literally won't come off haha but the bottom wouldn't stay on. Talk about bad luck. We ended up buying a 2 pack from the dollar store and they've been on a few days now. So we will see how those turn out. Absolutely love this! It was super easy and clear on how to install. The decoy button definitely stops my son from opening it. Along with any guests we've had over. At this point we just sit back and listen for them to yell from the bathroom about how to use our toilet ???? it's pretty comical seeing full grown adults not know how to open a baby proofed toilet. We love it. Our guests not so much. Lol

Loved this. But the adhesive ended up falling off due to the bathroom humidity.
This was great. It did fall off of the toilet so we will just reattach it with some glue.

Came off after one month
I really like this and like the decoy button but the double sided tape they gave us didn’t work for long. My toddler is back to throwing things in the toilet while I look for another solution with greater longevity.

Works for the most part
Works as intended - has kept our toddler out of the bowl. She hasn’t figured out the lock mechanism yet which is good. The adhesion has failed after a few months but we’ve stuck it back on. Toddler hasn’t figured it out yet so still serving a purpose.

Great lock…if it stayed on
Our toddler started playing with toilet seats and LOVES water and we didn’t want her messing with the water so we purchased this lock. It’s easy to install and easy to use without the kid learning what we’re doing to it to get it open herself but it wouldn’t stay stuck to the toilet. I tried it on the flattest spot of the side and no dice, the next flattest spot was too far to reach up to the seat. Ended up just throwing it away. Don’t waste your money unless you have one of those nice flat wall toilets

Save your money
Edit to include — I initially wrote a 5 star review because I quickly received an email asking for a review within a few days of getting this lock. I should have waited. The adhesive part that goes along the bowl is awful. We followed the instructions 100% and it still fell off not even a month after purchase. I can’t find a contact us option so that’s kind of disappointing. Would not recommend this product from this seller. It would be easier if you allowed your customers to contact you so you could fix this common issue or send back up adhesive. For spending over $20 with shipping, I expected better.

Pegan bien, el botón falso esta muy bien
Tengo un hijo de 1 año y medio que siempre se intereso demasiado por el inodoro, queriendo meter la mano, juguetes, etc. Con este cierre no me preocupo mas. Estoy viendo bastante gente que dice que sus hijos lo abren fácilmente. Lo que me pregunto es si no los han enseñado sin querer cómo se hace. Porque los niños son muy observadores. Otros cierres que he comprado de la marca son bastante difíciles de abrir, requieren no solo coordinación fina sino también un toque de fuerza - este no requiere fuerza, es bien blando y se abre fácil una vez que sabes dónde apretar. Por eso me pregunto los que los abren si los mismos padres no les han mostrado sin querer.

Doesn’t stick - waste of money, no way to contact manufacturer!
Product did not stay stuck on porcelain. Just fell off after one week of being in place but not used (baby is too little still). Waste of money, shame on Amazon for allowing this crap to be sold with no way to contact the maker. Of course most people throw the box away when they install it, which makes returns impossible.

Literally fell off after 5 minutes
I got this for my puppy, who was having accidents in the house to keep him from drinking from the toilet. I thought it was an amazing idea until it fell off after 5 minutes! I'm not sure how it would keep a child out when the adhesive strip is not remotely strong enough.

Looks like it came used
Revived this in great time, however the box looked open and when I stuck it on the toilet it pooped right off. Very disappointed. It’s not a deal breaker as someone probably used it didn’t need it and returned it. I will be replacing the adhesive and hopefully it will do the trick !
