Quality of this product was my reason for my purchase

Worked for my sink
What I received matched the photos in the product description. I've added a few photos of my own here in hopes they may help. I am not a professional, but I was able to do the job without too much trouble. My first try showed me that I needed to buy a larger spanner-wrench, as well as a washer to interface to the PVC screw cap that seals this assembly to the trap. I wish they would have included some of those washers - but they are not hard to buy separately (careful, the red ones I bought were not large enough outside diameter for my PVC screw cap). Second try was successful :-) The picture of the old and new assemblies shows that this was the correct size/length/fit for my sink. The new one has a slightly different way of mounting as can be seen - but this was not a problem for me. For reference, my bath sink fixtures were Delta from around 1990 vintage.

Not satisfactory
Only OK because the parts received didn't work well. The assembly leaked at the bottom of the gasket..at the nut. The idea of the gasket being squeezed sufficiently against the tailpiece threads to NOT leak seems iffy from the beginning. Throw in a gasket that is a loose fit on the tailpiece...and there is likely to be a problem. A trip to the local hardware store to get a smaller gasket (spec'd at a 1-1/4" ID), a second put-together with some pipe dope at the top of the tailpiece threads and it is not leaking now. I understand that given there was a leak to question all sorts of things: The cleanliness of the sink bottom, the possible crookedness of the tailpiece when installed (easy to do..look at ANY gasket removed from a lave drain and I'll bet you will see a less than perfectly straight impression on the gasket), movement AFTER tightening to align the stopper rod or p-trap, etc. Exactly NONE of those were the case on the first install. I tried the sink mfg. defined method (Only 1-2 turns after contact!). Leaked. I tried more turns. Didn't matter. It leaked. Placing a 1-1/4" gasket on a 1-1/4"ID tailpiece is not an easy fit...but it didn't leak, either. Silicone grease helped. Another thing I'm less than thrilled with. The overflow holes in the top flange were too high. There was a good bit of standing water left between the overflow cavity bottom and the bottom of those holes. I doubt there is a standard for such spacing. Certainly, the drain holes being too LOW is a failure. I doubt most folks would even look at what's left over in the overflow catch tray after the drain is installed. I filed the holes 'deeper'. End result: It worked, but it took some fussing.

Excellent quality
I bought this because I didn't want to install the cheap plastic one that came with the faucet I just bought. The plastic ones don't sit flush like these metal ones so you get a ring of standing water that takes forever to dry. The faucet I bought is brushed nickel but I couldn't find the brushed nickel version of this metal drain pipe. Solution? Order the drain flange in Brushed nickel and order this in chrome. Then mix and match the parts. Summary: Brushed Nickel Faucet Chrome Drain Pipe Kit: RP26533 ($37) Brushed Nickel Flange: RP23060BN ($18) Brushed Nickel Stopper: RP5648BN ($15) Total: $70 The other alternate was to order polished nickel which is about $100 for the kit.

Parts interchangeable with older Delta drain assembly
Parts from this kit were able to be used to service a Delta drain installed in 2004. A plastic washer for the pivot rod was likely the only part necessary to correct the leak, but the entire kit was purchased out of concern for fitment of various parts with the existing Delta drain. The parts in this kit were exactly like the existing drain's parts, so the pivot rod, nut, and washers were replaced and appear to have resolved the leak. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the pivot rod nut, that is probably why the original plastic washer broke and leaked. Tighten the nut just enough to create the resistance needed for the pop-up stopper to function in the closed/down position.

Nice drain assembly, and a solution for non-overflow sinks
You spend all your time identifying nice sink faucets only for the contractor to install that cheap, leaking, plastic drain assembly. Upgraded all drains to these and modified for my non-overflow sinks. (Delta doesn't sell drain assemblies with pop-up rods for non-overflow sinks.) A section of 1.5 inch plastic tailpiece fits perfectly snug over drain holes - will never move. You wouldn't need the strapping tape, but I care to never touch the drain again. (Make sure your drain hole in sink accommodates the extra thickness. Final OD is 1.5 inches - the hole in my common sink was slightly over 1.75 inches ID.)

Attractive and well made faucet!
Replaced a 21 year old American Standard 4” center set chrome faucet that was showing signs of wear. Hope this one holds up just as well! So far we love it! Seems to be very well constructed and it’s attractive.

Exactly what I needed. Nice metal construction. Would/will buy again!
I got this to go with a Delta faucet I ordered (also from Amazon) to replace a bathroom sink faucet that was leaking. I was not happy with the plastic drain assembly that came with the Delta faucet and wanted a good solid item to go with the faucet (Delta Faucet Haywood Center-set Bathroom Faucet Chrome, Bathroom Sink Faucet, Drain Assembly, Chrome 25999LF). Overall it was simple to install and was a nice compliment to the above mentioned faucet set). I will be buying both of these again!
