Roschach Shade: Unique Look, Average Quality

Bought the Roschach version of this shade. While I appreciate the shade for its uniqueness, the overall quality is just average. In particular, the print on the shade has not been properly aligned at the "seam"; and, the covering is a relatively thin paper that has been given an "aged effect" by adding beige to its off-white base coloring. Shipping was fast, and shade was securely packaged.

Not quite as pictured

The shade looked like it had more green in it which is why I purchased it but not so, more bluish colors. The trim on top and bottom is very obvious and stands out kind of clashing with the colors in shade. You don’t see any trim in the photo, it’s like a blunt goldish color. The shade is also plastic type. Maybe I should have known that by the “hard shell” description but I guess that wasn’t what I was thinking. Also allows for very little light coming through so don’t expect it to put out a lot of light in your room. The pattern is nice tho if you like the coloring and the hideous gold trim. Sadly I had to return it and did so before I wrote this review for a photo. I can’t say I wouldn’t recommend it because it really is an individual preference. It might work for some, just not for me. Surprisingly, an actual facelift for my smaller living room :)

I chose a brown floral pattern for 2 fun, matching floor lamps at my sofa ends and was astonished at what fun character they gave the entire room. :) plenty of light comes from under and above the shade to give light to the room. This creates the impact of the more opaque shades emitting just enough light to show the pattern off (the brown looks more like eggplant) and make a really lovely impact to the entire room. I will consider other lamps in my home for more of these shades with different patters.

Lamp shade is sticky.

When I took off the plastic covering on the lamp shade it was sticking to the plastic which pulled some of the silver leaf off and the shade remained sticky.

Better than the shades that came with the lamps

The shade is not quite what I thought I was getting. I was expecting a velvet burn-out type of fabric. It's just paper. Still an unusual and funky shade. The last photo makes it look as if the shade is purple. It's not; more brown leaning toward mauve.

Great style

Love the style and the look but I expected it to have a little texture as if it was made from linen or some cloth but it is smooth like plastic. Still looks cool though.
