Not for me

As much as I wanted to give this item 5 stars, I cannot. For some reason, these do not glow like I expected. I have tried to cluster them and even when the room is really dark, they barely give off any glow. I guess I was hoping for a "night light" effect. I have other RoomMates products that I really like and wanted to like this one as well, but it is not working out for me like I had hoped.

Unless his room is Pitch dark like the closet

My 3 yr old son has been telling me on most nights that he is scared and his room is dark. I have a Bunny night Lamp on the dresser but I think that is a little too bright for him because I see him cover his eyes with his arm and then I ask him if he wants me to turn off the lamp and he tells me yes but then it is too dark. So I wanted to try something that lights up without him needing to cover his eyes. The stars light up but I do not find it helps his darkness situation in his room. His room has two windows and I closed the blinds because the neighbors Apartment is facing right next to his window but light still leaks through the blinds so when I first turn off the lights, I could see the stars look bright but then the eye adjusts to the room and then the stars no longer look so bright and then bareley noticable. Unless his room is Pitch dark like the closet, it will not replace the Night lite. Tip: if you want the stars to shine brighter then put them under the light of a lamp. That really made a difference because i went into the closet with one sheet that was under the lamp and one without and the one I shine in the light was a lot brighter. Another Tip: put them closer together near the bed to make it seem brighter. My son does love the stars though. He was so excited when I had him help me stick them on the wall. And yes they are repositionable. at first my son was telling me where to put them (all close together) then my husband comes in and prefers them spread out so I took some off and re-positioned them and they came off easily, no mess, no paint peeling off, and sticks fine. During the day the stars look great on my son's bright yellow wall. The stars are a off white color in the daytime so if you have a wall color that is not white, then it will look great during the day. Since my husband wanted them spread out i will probably get another set to make it brighter. They come with 60 stars of 4 different sizes. It you spread them out you could cover one whole wall.

The stars fall off overnight.

We have several other RoomMates products & thought these would be similar. The stars are easy to put up & glow pretty well. However, they don't stick as well over time and tend to fall off overnight. The wall is lightly textured & painted, just a typical wall, but as I said the other RM products adhere well to it. Just these stars. :-( So sad kids...they were looking forward to adding some glow-in-the-dark to their walls.

Pretty but don't stick...

I really wanted these to work and they look nice but don't stick AT ALL. Just fall right off :(

The adhesive was weak

When I opened the package the stars were already peeling off of the paper in the package. I only got 3 on the wall and after 5 mins they fell off. Waste of money. Usually Roommates brand items are great.

Beautiful decorative element, and a great subtle night light!

These are so fun and pretty! You only have to have lights on for a few minutes for them to glow in the dark, and they look fun and beautiful, wherever you decide to place them. This is a great alternative to night lights that are only needed for falling asleep time, the riskiest time for boogie men and monsters; this should keep them away until your little one falls asleep. And don’t forget young adults and grown-ups! I know my wife loves them :-) They don’t really show in the day on places that are white or off white, so they are a fun thing to add to a room without having to affect the overall daytime look, especially if they end up on or near the ceiling!

I remember these stars when I was a little kid. They were fun to stare at the ceiling and imagine myself in space before. With these, I wanted to give my own kids the same kind of fun. They're easy to peel and stick on. The adhesives are light, but they stick on really strong. Since these adhesives are light, they were also easy to peel off and stick on another location. My kids even helped me. We just did the closet since it's a smaller space, dark and they love to hide in their. We did stick one on the fan so when it turns on it goes round in circles. The kids loves it!

Bringing back childhood memories!

They are easy to stick and easy to remove and stick somewhere else. Also, I usually go to bed late so the stars dont glow anymore (since they haven’t been exposed to light for some time) but you can simply shine the light from your phone for like 2 minutes (so they can absorb light) while brushing your theets and they will shine for at least 30 minutes after that.
