Soft Leather, Casual or Dress
OK, don't like to review a product until I have used or worn for a while, but this is to maybe help you save a trip to UPS for return. I am 73 years young so I was trying to find a casual dress shoe to wear that fit my now wide foot. I ordered a 10.5 wide in this style shoe which is now my dress formal shoe size. Bottom line is this: Leather is soft and I feel it will stretch. I reordered size 10 wide and fit better. This does have a non leather sole and heal. It is not a shiny shoe, but a more casual style that could look upgraded depending on what you wear. I will update as to durability and other stuff as it happens.

The shoe is too tight as a size 10M. If I had known, I should have gotten a size 10.5M instead.

tight fit on shoe vamp
Sizing is unpredictable. The size 9 medium is too small overall and the shoe's vamp has low vertical height. Men choose penny loafers because they are an easier shoe to fit, and I'm finding out that the quality assurance of shoes makes that assumption -- easier fit -- useless. Second pair of Rockport penny loafers ordered within one week, the other, a size 9.5 was far too long in length, too narrow, and too short on the vertical height on vamp as well. This low height vamp plagues the men's shoe industry -- it's everywhere now. Sometimes the only shoe that fits is the one with a "sneaker style bottom", completely inappropriate for business as well as for maturity. But I'll give up on Rockports now. Same problem in stores, too, regardless of manufacturer.
