Set of two

It is actually one octupus. With two halfs. I got fooled a little by thinking it will be two of them. Looks good.

Very, very cool!

I absolutely love octopuses (and books!) so when I saw these in a store I was coveting them but they were very expensive. Luckily I looked at the sticker on them of where they were made and found them here on Amazon for half the price. They are very beautiful and incredibly detailed. They are large and heavy enough to ground large books and interesting enough just to be decorative if you prefer. The finishing on them is superb.

Very detailed bookends!

Let me tell you!!! I was nervous about this item because of previous reviews but I AM SO GLAD I TOOK A CHANCE! I really LOVE these bookends! They are the exact style I was looking for. I am a decorator and the look is subtle coastal. I used these bookends to help decorate the space above my new fridge. They are heavy enough for the few cookbooks (I have more but a few was all that was needed for this space). There is a gold and silver element to these. As others mentioned, there does seem to be some glitter or something that comes off on your hands. But I was so pleased with the overall product, I used spray clear coat protectant I had on hand. Problem solved! The item came very well packaged! Surrounded in styrofoam and plastic, in a smaller box, and then surrounded by paper in a larger box. Left one star off value because of the glitter/paint ruboff. Even with the glitter rub off, I would DEFINITELY recommend this item! Instagram: kelcie.deco

They are not silver...

Packed well, nice quality but if you are looking for SILVER, these are not like the picture. I would say they are more bronzy, which is a disappointment because I wanted them to be the shiny silver color in the display...

Great display piece with/without books

Love the look,the weight of it is nice, not meant to hold a library of books. If you are using it to hold a nice display amount of books it’s perfect. Not 5 star because it came with one of the arms broken. It looks just like the picture,which is nice!

A statement piece!

This is just what I was looking for! They're a nice weight without being too heavy and the rubbery black feet keep them nicely in place while holding up books. The finish is unique and looks somewhat weathered in a good way. There were some silver flakes that came off when cleaning, though not in a bad way (the finish didn't look any different) - I'm just not sure exactly how they got the silvery finish. All in all though, a great piece!

Perfect Decor for Decorative Book Stacks

I make decorative books stacks over at librarybydesign.com, these bookends were just what I needed for my coastal collections. Great price too. A bit of a bummer about some of these negative reviews because these bookends are truly wonderful.

Looks great ~

Looks great, but I wish they were just a tad heavier. They are fairly sturdy and (unless you get up very close) look like they cost quite a bit more. Good value .

Beautiful bookends

The design is awesome. They arrived promptly but sadly one tentacle will need to be glued as it was broken when we opened it.

They break if dropped

While I like the look of these, they're not all that heavy. Just a few books pushed them apart and one fell off my desk, smashing into pieces. Perhaps they would be better served with rubber feet that has way more stick to them. The current pads aren't that useful.
