Worked as it’s supposed to

Worked on sealing my AC ducts that were not completely sealed after warranty work was done on the unit

Poorly sealed container... arrived open and partially spilled.

As previously reported by many others, yet seems to keep falling on deaf ears, the container arrived cracked open and partially spilled due to poor packaging. The container was just thrown in a much bigger box with no support padding of any kind to keep it from having free roam of the box. Furthermore, the product manufacturer's poorly secured container lid is NOT conducive for shipping. It can easily pop open and clearly does... especially when shipped in a box much bigger than needed and with NO support padding at all. Though the product itself is good quality, buying it local will avoid a spill during shipping issue.

Poor shipping packaging

Top came off in shipping and made a mess of the box. Thankfully it was the only item in the shipping box. Product itself works great for for sealing steel ductwork for dust collector system. Product is a 5 star, packaging was a 1 star for this particular order.

Easy to Use, Seals Leaking Ducts/Joints

Air leaking from your HVAC ducts can results in up to a 20% (or more) loss of efficiency. This is because many vents are not properly sealed. Often the ducts are sealed with a poor-quality tape which can result in loss of heated or cooled air. Over time, the duct tape can detach from the ducts, results in air leaks. Even worse is the poor or shoddy workmanship that fails to properly seal the ducts. Our A/C unit was not cooling as efficiently, so I conducted a visual inspection of the ducts in our attic. I found multiple areas where the ducts were not properly sealed. I first applied a high-quality HVAC aluminum tape to all the poorly sealed joints. Then I brushed on the Red Devil Acrylic Latex Duct Sealant. I used a 3” paint brush and it took about 45 minutes to totally paint the sealant over all the taped joints. The latex duct sealant is like a heavy paste and goes on very easily. Even though you could wash out the brush, I used an inexpensive brush and tossed it when I was finished. I was very pleased with how easy it was to apply the latex duct sealant. I was even more pleased with the way it sealed up a large number of small leaks. It dries/sets it about an hour. Very effective seal. This is probably one of the best investments you can make to improve the cooling/heating efficiency of your HVAC system. The monthly savings more than pays for itself.

DIY’s - this stuff really works!

This stuff really seals up joints very easily. I had silver tape that was unpeeled from duct joint allowing cool air into attic. I trimmed off peeling tape. Then applied mesh tape over existing joint tape and about two inches more of a border beyond silver tape. Then applied this product onto the mesh with a cheap(throw away) brush. Wear rubber throw away gloves. Be patient applying sealer and build up layers. Will need to use your fingers here and there. After I was done, my whole house felt like temperature was balanced in each room!

Works amazing!

This product was easy to apply with an inexpensive paint brush. When I stated, I was surprised how many gaps I had in my duct work. I filled all the cracks and seams along the main trunk line and also the supply lines that branched out. Once applied it dried to a light gray haze in a few days. After my application our local temperatures were in the high 80's and this is when I really saw how great this product performed. With the AC on you could really feel the increased air movement in all of our rooms. On very warm days we previously set our AC on 70 to keep the house cool and now with the sealed ductwork, we keep our AC set at 72-73 and our house is noticeably cooler. I would strongly suggest this product as I've seen the amazing results first hand.

Easy to use and works

Worked great. Big box store is limited on this type of product and didn't work as well. 1 coat easily covers desired area. Improved air flow after sealing ceiling ducts and duct runs. would purchase again

A Must to do for all HVAC systems

Unless you install HVAC systems for a living the smaller 1/2 gallon is more than enough. I did my new house, my neighbors new place and my 2 kids houses and still have some left. You wouldn't believe how much air loss comes out of you unsealed ductwork. This red devil sealer is very easy to work with dries to a rubbery finish. Much better than the silver foul tape.
