Needs more cryptids
My partner and I love how much the game changes if you play one cryptid at a time, the rules can be a little vague at times and my only other complaint is there could be even more cryptids (Thunderbird, Wendigo, Jackelopes, Champy, Skinwalkers etc.) Despite all that, we love this game and its our new favorite!

Big fan of the first
If you loved the first board game, then you will love this one. It's more of a 1950s fell than the classic universal horror monsters. You have aliens and mythical beast. It's harder somewhat than the first, but my kids and I love to play it.

Great fun
I heard an interview with the creator on the excellent "Monster Talk" podcast, and was sold on it right away. The rules are a bit confusing on first, and second reading, but my daughter and I played through, and it's much easier than the booklet makes it seem. The game has six cryptid figures, up to any four of which can be used at one time, so there's a great deal of replayability and variation. The detailing on the cryptids is fantastic, and the plastic is very durable. Good range of playable characters with varying abilities which adds to playability. I like the idea of having to rescue townsfolk, and as it's a cooperative game, there's no sense of trying to outdo other players. It's all about defeating the monsters. I recommend it highly to anyone who loves board games, cryptids and boardgames that involve cryptids

Excellent
I love that this is a teamwork game. Huge fan of the original Universal Monsters and this is a fun take on American Monsters. Challenging and entertaining game. My only gripe is that the Bigfoot character card and instructions show different frenzy levels and some of the monster cards have contradicting sentences so it's a bit hard to determine exactly what to do in those situations (so we had to make some house rules).

Excellent game for the whole family
Just like the original game, American Monsters is a great family game, the little creatures are cool to play with, its easy to learn and its lots of fun on the go. I would recommend this game to any family who wants to have a scream of a good time.

Nice follow up to the first game
This game is very similar to the original Horrified, just with American legends/cryptids. If you haven’t played it, you are trying to defeat a number of monsters while rescuing people. Pretty easy to learn, with plenty of replay value courtesy of the various combinations of the monsters to face. A solid game overall. Good for families and those looking to expand their gaming from the usual of Monopoly and such.

A fun take on the original
My wife and I play a lot of board games and we’re huge fans of the original Horrified game. American Monsters is a fun take on the original, with new monsters, mechanics, and artwork. I think a enjoy the original version a little more because the monsters are more memorable. Negatives: 1) the color of the items tokens is “blah”. There’s brown, mustard yellow, and forest green. I would have preferred colors that felt more “Festive” (maybe red, white, blue) to fit the “Americana” feel of the board. The brown and yellow tokens can be difficult to distinguish. 2) There are a few minor typos. For example, it refers to “Police Station” and “Sheriff Station” which are the same location. 3) The creature moulds are very delicate (especially moth man!) and I worry they may break over time. Overall a great game. If you LOVE the original like I do, then this game is worth it. Otherwise, you’re probably fine sticking with the original since these are essentially the same game. Highly recommended!

Si te gustó el primer Horrified
Recomiendo este juego para los fans de lo cooperativo, básicamente amplía el concepto del original (monstruos clásicos) con el folklore criptozoológico estadounidense. Los monstruos están interesantes y tienen buenas mecánicas, Pie grande y el Chupacabras les quedaron muy bien, aunque el Diablo de Jersey es mucho más tardado de acomodar en relación a los otros. Por momentos me recordó mucho a Gravity Falls, que es un buen soundtrack para acompañar.

Horrorosamente bueno
El juego me encantó, las dinámicas los mounstros todo está genial, solo por ahí tiene algunas fe de erratas, por ejemplo en el la Banshee en su tarjetón menciona la palabra die cuando quiero entender que debería ser dice (dados), una ficha de equipo que se tiene que colocar en el police station y esa zona no existe, pero es fácil de entender el inglés y muy bueno lo recomiendo al 100

Buen juego, algo complejo.
El juego es divertido, pero tienes que tener el manual a la mano en las primeras partidas, porque tiene muchas mecánicas y los monstruos tienen formas bastante diferentes de comportarse. Es buen juego, pero los jugadores novatos pueden batallar un poco para asimilar tanta información. El diseño del tablero esta bien, pero lo mejor son las figuritas y los personajes.

Vergnüglicher Coop-Horror!
Wer HORRIFIED mochte, wird auch diese Version des Spiels lieben. Stimmungsvolles Zufallsgewusel, das gar nicht einfach in Schach zu halten ist!
